Let’s be fair. Is this good enough to beat Wigan?

Tue Jul 30, 2019 8:01 am

I’m doubtful we will have a striker in by the time we have Wigan, but remain hopeful we get one in before the window closes. It’s likely that we will have to play wigan with what we’ve got right now.
Do you think this is good enough to be somewhat confident of beating a mediocre Wigan side? I appreciate some of this may change I.E Bacuna, Nelson, maybe Madine.

Etheridge
Bennett
Morrison
Flint
Peltier
Ralls
Vaulks
Reid
Mendez-Laing
Murphy
Bogle

Personally I need convincing. Especially since - I know it was only pre season - but I would have expected a bit more end product from Reid to be honest, on the same note I’m fairly pleased with Bogles form, hopefully that alone sees us over the line but it’s going to be tough.

If we stop judging what we don’t have and focus what we do have against Wigan, how are our chances? If we’re just talking as mates for a second and not cliche managers saying “every game is tough”, I appreciate that, but let’s just assess it.

if i can give you one piece of advice it would be to ignore pre season.

Forget the Reid comment I made If you want. It was only an observation from watching 90 minutes of every match.

That team is more than good enough to beat Wigan. Does'nt mean we will win though. We all know that any side can be beaten in this league, I think we lost 10 times the season we went up.

What are you talking about? By asking if this team is good enough to beat Wigan away? I know it CAN. But it’s not as strong as I would have liked our team to be come the first game of the season.

Obvious troll? Get a grip

Let's turn this around...

Is this team good enough to beat Cardiff City?

Wigan: Marshall, Robinson (70' Roberts), Macleod (45' Fox), Pilkington (60' Lang), Evans (70' Weir), Windass (60' Gelhardt), Garner (60' Naismith), Jacobs (60' Massey), Lopes (57' Byrne), Kipre, Dunkley.

That's from their last friendly.

Hahaha. Apparently Pilks has 3 in 4 over pre-season, just watch, he'll score knowing us.

Would have been more if it wasn't for some dodgy refereeing

We will know Saturday.

We could beat them they could beat us.

It’s who turns up and plays the best on the day.

We won’t walk the league like some people seem to think.

Wigan are weaker this season than laety

They struggled then

Not as strong as you would have liked
So who in that line up is not a geniune starterc
The back 5 are very strong
2 good midfielders
Ried at 10 evey man and his dog have been saying its a must
2 very good wingers prem experience
Bogle ???
So come on back up your ridiciculous statement with some realistic
Players we could get to make this team stronger other than the german striker we are alledgedly signing today :bluebird:
