We’re delighted to reveal that a Championship record number of Bluebirds Season Tickets (18,000) have already been sold for the upcoming 2019/20 campaign.

“We’re thrilled to see that so many Bluebirds fans have already committed to the club for the upcoming season,” said Cardiff City FC CEO & Executive Director, Ken Choo.

Great news and with a marquee type signing or two (maybe!) I’m sure that number would be boosted big time.

Very impressive and I’m sure a major signing in the next few days and maybe a couple of decent loan deals and 20,000 is still possible

Looking at the sales for Luton, the upper Ninian could well have to be opened.
Well done to the Canton , not a ticket left.

I think this proves that the vast majority of fans have a different view to one or two on this forum who are throwing their toys out of the pram because they believe we lack ambition. I imagine most fans are well aware that the club has been working hard behind the scenes to give Warnock what he has aked for. The club appears to well run at last, nearly everyone is pulling together, and if we are challenging towards the top end of the table, I am sure we will attract crowds of around 25k, just as we have done in the past when towards the top of the second tier. We are going to have some bad days for sure, and I predict a roller coaster of a ride between now and next Spring. Whatever happens come next May, I will still be around (hopefully) to carry on cheering and cursing us in the 2020/21 season and beyond. :bluescarf:

I'm going to try to get a couple of season tickets in the Canton next week for me and my grandson,as we were in the family stand last season.

Hope there are some spaces left? :(

Mate , if that happens I think we’ll exceed 20,000 comfortably.

Next season will be my first as a season ticket holder, the £279 early bird offer was too good to turn down.

Is that a championship record for the city or just a championship record in general , surely villa and Leeds would have sold more previously

It'll be a club record. However way up there for all clubs.

Villa sold about 20k last season and Leeds fans have never been massive on season ticket sales in comparison to their attendances. But they also sold about 18k last year.

Really impressive numbers but it isn't anywhere near Championship records or top end championship. I'm a Derby fan and we're over 21,000 this season despite 10+ years out of the Prem and support tailing off year on year. Pains me to say it but Forest are a similarly well supported champ club, they're capped at 20,000 this season and sold them easily. Norwich were 20,000 last season. Villa were 24,000 last season. I'd have thought Leeds were higher but think you may be right, their numbers swelled when the results started coming. Think 20,000-24,000 is where the top 3-4 champ clubs tend to be in a given season.

How's the weather in Derby today mate?

Still snowed in?

What's the Derby fan's view of the Rooney signing and the fact that your owner is the undisputed king of finding loopholes in FFP?

I emigrated to the South East years ago so not sure what the weather is like in the motherland today! I lurk on this forum from time-to-time as I watched Cardiff during my uni years so have a soft spot for the club and like you to do well.

Derby are definitely not a popular club in the league at the moment with these FFP shenanigans, understand why other clubs are not happy, I'd think the same. We've not played within the spirit of the rules that is for sure.

Mel Morris (Derby's owner) has only recently won the fans over IME, before a season or two ago we were very, very incoherently run, chucked good money after bad on managers which Mel sacked at the drop of a hat, players were signed on fat wages with seemingly no overarching strategy etc. etc. And FFP caught up with us as a result of those years. It was all a desperate attempt to finally get us promoted. Mel had to pull a rabbit out of the hat with the stadium buy to bail out all those decisions he had ultimately sanctioned. As I say, I understand this is highly contentious.

Have to say though since then the club (appears) to actually be in very good shape. Off the field we seem to be growing commercial revenues consistently, RamsTV is being heavily invested in to raise the profile of the club outside of Derby.
The academy and youth teams are clearing up in honours which hopefully will provide a conveyor belt of talent, Mel's trigger finger is seizing up, good coaches and experienced players (been there, done it players) are being brought in bring on the academy youth (where Rooney comes in IMO). I am not sure how we will do this year given some squad departures but it does actually feel like we are building foundations for the first time in a decade.
