‘ SWANSEA V CARDIFF CITY ‘ TICKETS / TRANSPORT

Fri Jul 26, 2019 8:03 am

Swansea away is a Voucher exchange this season, but the only really difference than previous seasons is we all don’t have to go and meet up at the Cardiff City Stadium.

We will still all be on coaches have to meet at an RV point near Swansea and then be escorted from there to the ground at different times.

The plus side is that coaches can after the game go straight back to where they came from and those that live in West Wales or Bridgend etc etc can go straight home and of course never had to travel all the way to Cardiff in the first place :bluebird:

26th October 2019 :bluebird:

It’s not a full bubble, but it’s kind of a bubble still, just a little more relaxed shall I say.

1,650 tickets so far, hoping to increase to 1,900 :thumbright: :bluebird:

Annis, it might be worth checking but I think our South Wales Derby is the only local derby game left in Britain where away fans cannot make their own way to the game independently by car or train and until that day comes it doesn't matter if they call it a voucher exchange in my eyes it's still a BUBBLE. What's your views? In recent trips down there nothing really has kicked off cos SWP have it all wrapped up. Terry

Terry

Blackburn/Burnley and Chester/Wrexham are two that also have it/have had it.

Tbh, its the fact it's not actually a local Derby how they have got away with it for so long imo.

I think there are far worse games for trouble our there but the Police havnt been able to bubble as they are actual local derby's and to close to each other to do it but our 40 plus Mile gap makes it possible.

Having said all that when we went down there in the Premier league season they told us it would be the last 'bubble' as it costs to much money.

Celtic v Rangers has restrictions. Last season only 500 away fans were allowed to attend.

I think if the bubble was taken away and train travel was an option the trains could be policed just as effectively and our fans escorted at the other end but for SWP the bubble is the easier option.

It's a fair trek by foot from station isn't it? Sure PC plod would love the extra ot escorting us there and back? Not sure local bosses would appreciate tbe cost though!

Its actually the total opposite mate.

The 'Bubble Trip' for the Police is a total nightmare and money pit and why they want to move away from it, it costs an absolute fortune to escort everyone in a massive convoy down the M4 and the Clubs are not paying for it, the Clubs just contribute towards the policing of the stadium and immediate vicinity of the Stadium, everything else is down to Public Safety and comes out of the everyday coffers and they can't justify it when Policing is so under the spotlight in terms of funding and spending.

Its far easier for them to say, ok, make you're own way down here, we will meet you at X, Y and Z and take you in, there will be 20,000 fans there and 19,750 of them aside of a bit of verbal banter won't really want any physical violence and the other couple of hundred that do they will just say crack on whilst we film you on one of our multiple CCTV units that we have working, come for you, charge you and fine you.

End of story, I would hate to be a copper at the Football, imagine having to stand in-between a load of Muppets 'pretending' to get at each other, I can guarantee you the second they stood aside and said crack on then people would be back pedalling fast than Usain Bolt.
