Oxford United play down Cardiff City interest in winger

Let’s kick things off with Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has played down speculation that Cardiff City have put a bid in for winger Gavin Whyte.

The Oxford Mail report that the Bluebirds are not one of several clubs to have enquired about the 23-year-old - reported to be valued at £4million - this summer.

Robinson is reported as saying:

“I know Neil [Warnock], so if there is he’ll call me. That’s the first time I’ve heard of that.

“We’ve turned down a lot of offers for Gavin and people know where we stand.

“We know people like him. I love a lot of players too – but I don’t get them all.”
