It has been a relatively quiet day on the Cardiff City transfer front - but there has been an interesting development late on this afternoon.

Outlet Football Insider are reporting that the Bluebirds have lodged a seven-figure bid for Oxford United's Gavin Whyte.

The Northern Ireland international only joined The U's last summer, but the 23-year-old has impressed since arriving from Crusaders in his homeland.

It is striker, though, where Neil Warnock needs reinforcements and, worryingly, there has been little movement on that front.

The Northern Irishman is 23 years old, with sources telling the outlet that a seven-figure sum has been lodged.
