I sympathise. I had a new one sent last year despite not moving seats or category. However I was aware that this might not happen this year and fortunately still have last years. However they could have publicised it a lot more. An big announcement at the last home match, notices in the ground etc. Its not rocket science is it?

No its not and do sympathise but having a go at shop staff is not right as they are only following protocol. If I was you I would email Dalman or Ken it's the people at the top you should address this complaint at and maybe they will look at it again and not charge anyone in future after all suspect it may not be that many who lose or throw away ST especially as generally people know about procedure..

Totally agree with you. The club should realise that things like this can alienate some fans- along with things like "admin fees"- but as you point out its not the ticket office staff who make the policy.

So let me get this right as I’m a bit confused... the club openly publicised on all letters and emails that you have to keep your season ticket so that it can be reloaded for this season (this helps to keep the cost of your season ticket down as it obviously costs about a tenner to produce a new card and send it out etc)
You then lose your ticket but you want the club to pay to issue you a new card and send it out to you even though it is your own fault you threw your old card away
Even though the club has some of the lowest priced season tickets in the championship you are now threatening to cancel your season tickets yet you are prepared to now go to all the away games which will cost a huge amount more and put money into the pockets of all the other clubs in the championship yet depriving the club you support of any income
