Sala, Zohore & why we might not see this invisible 8m

This isn’t a disrespect to Sala, but to some of the posters on this forum. If Sala had managed one goal last season, and struggled for whatever reason, our “fans” would have cried over his wages and said good riddance to selling him eventually. If Sala struggled to score goals and just generally struggled in his all round play I do wonder if you’d be commenting “yeah F off you donkey” and that sort of pathetic response our highest goalscorer at the club is currently getting in Ken Zohore. It’s like I keep saying, the argument is always about the 8m for Zohore and the wages off our book etc. But as football fans who don’t have any real input on the transfers wether you like it or not we’re not in a position that we SHOULD be worrying about the financial side of it, specifically because we’re currently a well run club these days with a healthy squad and for some reason we care about the 8m for our main striker, an 8m by the way may or may not even be invested into the club or the players. As far as we know Vincent might just sell our most expensive players and sell the club to a trouble owner, so we essentially get sod all from any of these transfers. The signings we have made and are about to make don’t necessarily reflect on our outgoings, we may have signed everyone we’re going to wether we sell anyone or not.
In essence, we should just be taking everything as it comes, and think a bit more than just assuming “we sell players for x and then we buy the players with x” because we don’t know that.
The most important thing I wanted to just get across is the comparison between what happened in January and now.
In January we lost our most expensive transfer in the history of our club in Emiliano Sala. The footballer ‘Sala’ was talked about less than the PERSON Emiliano. The fans, the manager, everyone around the club cared more about the fact a young person with his whole life ahead of him has died.
A few months later and our current main Striker is being linked with a move away and despite we sing “ooh Kenneth Zohore” every game he plays for us, and we embrace him every time he scores or has one of his strong menacing runs past a full back or through a whole defence, the same people (not all) are celebrating his departure and some even basically calling him insults and feeling like they want to express how awful or useless this Striker who was the Catalyst to begin our promotion season. Remember the first game of the season away to Burton in a 0-0 Draw? No? That’s because Zohore scored a last minute shot outside the box to start us off to 3 points. If that didn’t happen we would have started the promotion season off with a point, not a terrible result but that start would have changed our season for sure.
Basically, when you compare how some of us are reacting to Zohore’s imminent departure compared to what happened in January, I understand over time I expect the fans to somewhat forget the feelings and the hurt the club went through, but I didn’t think we’d be celebrating Zohore’s departure just focusing on his wages (which aren’t a problem let’s be real) just 6 months after the Sala Incident. Get a bit of perspective.

We might have made the transfers we’re going to make AND keep Zohore. Would that have been so bad? I don’t fancy our chances up front with Zohore, after all it was his style of play and ability to work with the players around him that kept him in our team. Imagine how many rotational strikers were going to have this season. Ward will get a run out and then Warnock will try the new striker (or vice versus) if that doesn’t work effectively then he’ll resort to Paterson when he’s fit, and possibly Madine who is yet to score for us. If what I just deacribed happens then Zohore WAS and still is the striker we want upfront who can atleast compliment Reid, Murphy, Hoilett & MendeLaing just by simply playing. Don’t see any other strikers offering that, remember folks none of our other strikers are scoring bundles of goals either, and there’s no Guarentee this new one will either..

The last part of your post is spot on,there are no guarantees in football, but imho,it was time for the parting between ccfc and ken  no guarantee he would have had another"purple patch" this season or ever again,I said as much when we were signing emiliano sala, one purple patch also at the time, even though he had been banging them in for nantes,I hope the move can re light the fire in his belly,or it could go tits up for him,but we move on and hopefully we sign a forward that can actually score a good few goals, but definitely not carol :banghead: like we need another sick note player  :old: :bluebird:
