West Brom fans are concerned about Signing Kenneth Zohore
Friday 19th July 2019
WBA Live
The BBC report that West Brom have agreed an £8m fee with Cardiff City for striker Kenneth Zohore with the club looking to add to their forward line.
However, the news of the potential transfer has caused a negative reaction amongst some of the Baggies’ fanbase.
Zohore only scored one goal in 19 Premier League matches as Neil Warnock’s Cardiff were relegated to the Championship last season, which has left many supporters at the Hawthorns worried about their prospects in front of goal next term.
One fan questioned the £8m transfer fee for a striker who only scores one goal a season whilst another demanded the club go out and re-sign Dwight Gayle, claiming he’s exactly what the club needs and exactly what the fans want.
Other reaction included one member of the support wondering if he was missing something when thinking about the hefty fee which was reinforced by another fan stating that they just can’t replace Jay Rodriguez and Gayle with someone who has a poor record.
The former Denmark Under-21 international joined the Welsh side in 2016 and has played 77 games in the Championship, bagging 23 goals and 10 assists.
Here’s the best selection of reactions from the West Brom faithful:

As per reports, #wba have agreed a fee with Cardiff for Kenneth Zohore. Rises to £8m in total with add-ons. Albion also approached Sporting over winger Matheus Pereira. Most likely a loan deal.

An “anyone will do” signing. Just get Gayle for crying out loud, he’s exactly what the club need, exactly what the fans want, and will do the job he’s paid to, this bloke is a very average champ player at best, £8m in my opinion we are being done over again.

Just seen @WBA moving forward with Kenneth Zohore, not sure if it's the right deal, you can't replace Jrod and Gayle with a striker who scored 9 goals in 36 last time in the championship, 8M wasted

Not sure about Zohore, simply not seen enough of him, tbh. Jury very much out. But we have needed to make a big(gish) signing, for the sake of backing Bilic as much as anything else.

WBA fans or me?
Me yes I did until Warnock came out strongly about his bad attitude.
Do I really not like him

I dislike any player who cost our club wasted £millions end off.
In the last 2 seasons, what benefit was Johore to Cardiff City? ? ?

Annis I'm with you on this, I will back any player even if they lack skill as long as they have the right attitude and at least try, it seems KZ either stopped trying or has been quietly engineering a move away.

Savigma, dies this all the time, makes sarcastic comments, but never answers the replies and questions to him
100% Jules, right attitude no problem, but Warnock himself said Zohore had a bad attitude and for me Zohore should of gone 2 years ago.

Play to his strengths and he’ll score goals. Isolate him and lump a ball for him to win in the air and he’s useless.

Hes proved that with some of his goals maybe bad attitude but not surprising considering the service he was getting and what he was expected to do? Must not forget not one so called striker as done SFA under NW question is why?

Fair comment buit it still disguises the fact that Ken's attitude has been lacking on more than one occasion as far as Warnock ic concerned. I trust Warnock to make the right decisions as he sees the players daily.

I honestly think he will be brilliant for them and bang in the goals, love to know the odds on him top scorer and WBA to go up. We have never played to his strengths like I think WBA will.
I think he will end up getting a big move for bigger money in the not so distance future.
Good luck to the lad. Now over to Warnock to get better.

Hope we did actually put some sort of sell on clause in this deal as it could easily happen.

What were his strengths? I don't see him as a mobile striker, not a target man, not a poacher. He just seemed to be decidedly average at everything. As a package it kind of worked. Good luck to him. I think like Harris he just needed a fresh challenge.

What would be good and a kick in the teeth to Albion fans would be us signing Dwight Gayle
Fri Jul 19, 2019 2:15 pm
And so they should be.. 8M misfit.
Mind you, from what I saw of Flint last season, I shan’t gloat.

you dont see him as mobile? is that a joke? hes quick compared to most, given his size hes f*cking rapid.
I get that some people dont like him, fair enough, but jesus! what game are some people watching.
Fri Jul 19, 2019 3:03 pm
providing he stays fit and plays i reckon he scores 15 at least.
i think luke asked the question - you can get 16/1 on him being top scorer.

You can be quick without being mobile. Mobile I'd translate as Bobby Reid. Chase everything. Doesn't stop.
I didn't say he didn't impress me either. Just said he doesn't have one particular strength. If he was that rapid I remember watching him score shit loads from all those long balls... Oh wait... He fluffed half of them. Cos he was once again, just an average finisher. Good luck to the lad. But we can do better.

IF he stays fit. Which he probably won't. He plays 46 games. Then 1 in 3 is only an average return on a 'top class' striker at a 'top class' team. I'd say taking the 8m was great business.
I get some people like him. But blind loyalty is ridiculous. What game are some people watching?!
We just better buy a replacement.

Great strengh with the ball at his feet, great strengh running with the ball.
Weak in the air but if West brom are looking to play it in behind into the space he will score. He has brushed many a championship defender aside.
To put it mildy I hate the thought of him against Flint and Morrison.
Sat Jul 20, 2019 6:40 am
He will be in the top 5 scorers in the league if he stays fit
He will get 15 goals in a team that plays football and not just hoofs it to him half the time
Sat Jul 20, 2019 7:12 am
I have said it many times on this forum , I have never seen a striker who always shoots at the near post . He never shoots across the keeper , his finishing is poor . Patterson scores more than Zohore with the same service .
Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:11 am
He is a ball on the ground quality striker not a target man. He's strong and quick. Play to his strengths and west brom will have an asset that will embarrass us, keep hoofing the ball up to him and there will be no change. Same issue we have with Reid, both very skilful players with the ball to their feet.
Patterson on the other hand will dive in anywhere. The man will score some of the scummiest scruffiest slowest goals i have ever seen! Sometimes more luck than skill.
Go and look at the goals both Zohore and Patterson have scored and prove me wrong.

Apparently the fee will reach £8m with 'add on' payments. Just a guess but I can't see us ever getting those 'add on' payments
