Why?

Are we always so slow in announcing an incoming transfer? Manga has come all the way back from America and has been announced by the buying club. Our intended signing comes all the way from Middlesbrough to have a medical and still is not announced. It makes us look so slow and ponderous and does not give our fans a lot of feel good factor. Still no news of a midfielder or more importantly a striker. What’s the betting Nelson is the defensive midfielder and therefore we don’t another one. Gutted if Madine, Ward and Patterson are the choice up front. Just over 2 weeks to go the season start.

Perhaps he has not signed yet. Everyone slated the club during the Sala transfer, perhaps they prefer all the formalities to be complete before an announcement is made. After all, until the contract is complete, either party can pull out. If the transfer is virtually a done deal. does it really matter if they confirm it now or next week? The important thing is who is registered as a City player when the season kicks off.

I know I may be living in cuckoo land. But every day since the first team has been in the states, there’s been a video of training. Yesterday they showed clips from when still in San Antonio, and today just clips of keepers.
So my theory is we may well have signed someone and they are waiting until tonight’s game to unveil them on the team sheet. Or maybe I’m just being too optimistic.

I imagine there is plenty of work and negotiations going on behind the scenes. Personally, I wouldn't expect any confirmation of new signings until everything is 100% complete. Would look a bit amateurish if club said a player had signed and then something happens at the last minute which resulted in the player signing for someone else. I have always said that it is mostly speculation until you see a player holding the shirt at the CCS.

Not having a go but Sala held the shirt. Now we're saying he wasn't our player. So even holding the shirt is not 100% nailed on.
