ADEN FLINT WAGES

£18k per week according to my Boro mate , so it’s safe to say his pending transfer will be a saving on Bruno’s wage even with a possible pay increase. :ayatollah:

Can't imagine his wage was still 30k after relegation

He was on 30k a week when he signed for us , can see him being on much less when he extended his contract

Did he sign an amended contract last season? If not then I highly doubt he had a relegation clause from a league he wasn't even competing in. Relegation from PL clauses only really come into place for those that sign when you are there. You guys weren't there long enough for many to re-sign contracts last season with a relegation clause inserted.

I would imagine those clauses are automatic though of course I don't know. Surely you don't put a wage increase clause into someone's contract if you get promoted , without putting the counter balance wage reduction should you then get relegated ?

Perhaps in the past, but surely those days are over

Talking utter shit of course you can have a relegation clause.

Didn’t Warnock confirm during one interview that everyone had a pay rise for promotion and an automatic one if relegated

Pretty sure Dalman or Choo confirmed this at some point

Read that again slowly. I did not once say you couldn't.

I said it is highly unlikely that when you signed someone in the Championship, they would have a relegation clause from the PL. Those clauses are usually inserted when the player signs the contract WHILE in the PL, be that an extension or a new contract.

With respect, what do you know about footballing contracts?

clubs have been caught out regarding wages over the years, i bet most clubs do it now.

Read something recently about the united players wages going down 20% because they arent in the champions league.

Its always funny to hear people know what the players earn. I would say that not a single one of us know what any of them earn

Well all can say is you'd be daft not to have a clause regarding promotion or relegation in a new contract regarding what league your in
..Football contracts have moved on in past 10yrs, in citys case whilst may not have such contracts they did share 10m in bonuses which suspect is a standing one just in case.
And bet the new arrivals will have relegation/promotion clauses

Yeah your talking utter bollocks.

Those clauses would be added to by any sensible team that are going for promotion.

You want to hope your tin pot club has them inserted into your players contracts because when you end up in league one you’ll be well and truly fucked.

Nope its absolutely true. I don't think many, if any, player signed by a championship club will have a PL relegation clause. You can swear and get as angry as you like but that won't change reality.

Yes the contract extensions we gave had the clauses. Players like Bony, Ayew etc refuse to have those clauses entered or they simply won't sign, we were lucky that we stayed there for so long that all of our championship players at one point or other had to sign a new contract while in the PL.

So to think every single player has it is fantasy land and a big part of why Manga has been moved on if I were to guess based on common sense.

Manga was signed in the Championship on £30,000 per week (acording to this forums hierarchy). When we got promoted to the prem he may have had an increase but his relegation clause would've brought him back to his original Championship wage of £30,000.

Re: ADEN FLINT WAGES

Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:23 am

There is zero % chance he was on £30,000 a week when you signed him in The Championship. Zero.

Re: ADEN FLINT WAGES

These are the PL wages:-

(First figure is annual, second is weekly)

Harry Arter M £2,080,000 £40,000
Bobby Reid M £1,560,000 £30,000
Bruno Ecuele Manga D £1,535,000 £29,519
Aron Gunnarsson M £1,250,000 £24,038
Jazz Richards D £675,000 £12,981
Loic Damour M £495,000 £9,519
Sol Bamba D £728,000 £14,000
Neil Etheridge GK £1,015,000 £19,519
Rhys Healey F £156,000 £3,000
Joe Bennett D £1,015,000 £19,519
Matthew Connolly D £987,000 £18,981
Greg Cunningham D £987,000 £18,981
Junior Hoilett F £1,456,000 £28,000
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing F £961,666 £18,494
Sean Morrison D £1,300,000 £25,000
Josh Murphy F £1,300,000 £25,000
Brian Murphy GK £545,000 £10,481
Callum Paterson D £1,170,000 £22,500
Lee Peltier D £987,500 £18,990
Joe Ralls M £1,275,000 £24,519
Bobby Reid F £1,560,000 £30,000

Manga just under £30,000, this after the promotion bonus. It is reportedly still the same.

That is exactly what I would expect his Championship wages were pre increase, probably the info they got.

I’m happy to use either figure, both work for my point.
