The talk this morning is that a club is going to go to the wall because at some stage a club will go si far it cant get back into a sustainable entity! Bolton players haven't been paid for 5 months nit even sure they can put team out at beginning of season .notts county in trouble as well and macclesfield so wouldn't be surprised if one goes to the wall

It's a shame and I can see plenty of clubs being in the same position over the next 10 years or so. As the PL clubs become richer and richer, the clubs in the lower leagues will be feeding off scraps, and I can see a big shake up coming in the EFL before too long. As footballers demand ever increasing salaries, and TV loses interest in anything outside of the PL, something has to give. Been on the cards for a long time, and this is just the begining.

Pay cap is only way in long term plus better ownership control ! Lots of problems are because of owners taking over then wanting make profit selling club when cant they just let it bleed to death like Bolton..

The game I love has been absolutely ruined by money and greed. Jimmy Hill must regret ever getting involved in the pay dispute all those years ago!

(92 professional clubs in 4 divisions throughout the country, is far too many, we even have a fully professional club in the League of Wales for god's sake. there are too many clubs trying to sustain a professional status, this whole issue was bound to happen, how the hell do the lower league clubs survive on a few thousand people turning up for 23 games per season with very little other income ( TV etc) it just does not add up

They could all prosper if the money was spread out more fairly instead of just lining the pockets of the already rich.
It worked perfectly well for best part of a century until the greed that is the Premier League and Sky came along.
