Cardiff City chief Mehmet Dalman ends Charlton Athletic takeover bid

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has pulled out of a bid to buy Championship rivals Charlton Athletic.
Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet has been keen to sell the club since 2017, and Dalman, along with two other groups had been in talks to take over at the Valley.
The move would have seen Dalman leave the Cardiff City Stadium after six years.
However, complications over a potential deal, which first arose earlier this month, had lead some outlets to suggest that the Cardiff chief had walked away from the deal.
It's our understanding that at the time, Dalman was still interested in getting a deal over the line, although the chances of that happening have looked slim ever since.
And WalesOnline understands that negotiations will not be taken any further.
Charlton were promoted to the Championship via the play-offs last season, and reports in the national media had suggested that Duchatelet had raised his asking price to around £50m.
But it's understood that a more pressing concern for Dalman was the level of Charlton's existing debt, as well as possible issues surrounding the club's training ground.
Dalman is now set to focus on matters involving Cardiff City, which will please boss Neil Warnock, who enjoys a close working relationship with the Cardiff chief.

I see this as no smoke without fire. His intentions and personal aspirations are clear so its probably a matter of time, if not Charlton then another.
However, if he has the dosh get him a bigger stakeholder at CCS
