Cardiff City are ready to beat rivals Swansea City to Bordeaux midfielder Younousse Sankhare, according to reports.
The Senegal international had been linked to a host of British clubs last week , with Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest mentioned alongside the Bluebirds and Swans.
However, fresh reports suggest that Neil Warnock is ready to make a move for the 29-year-old.
Warnock it is believed is ready to bid £4m for him.
TEAMtalk report that the Blubeirds are in pole position to land the central midfielder.
Reports in France claim Bordeaux's Senegalese midfielder Younousse Sankhare is a target for both South Wales clubs
Sankhare has won seven caps for Senegal, but has also represented France at under-19 and under-21 level.
Having had spells with French clubs PSG, Dijon, Guingamp and Lille, he joined Bordeaux where he helped the club reach the Europea League.
However, it now appears his time in France is set to come to an end - with Bordeaux looking to cash in on a player who could bring them around £4.5m in this market.

There are reports that he’s been left out of their squad for their pre season tour so there might be something in this.

not really into this one, would rather be lowering the average age of the squad not upping it.

Hes 30 essentially. and might turn out to be great. but weve got 24 year olds winning our young player of the year and its grating to see no youth in the side whatsoever.

lets go out and find the players from elsewhere then, im not precious about where they come from, but we have an aging side as it is and the championship is gruelling
