Cardiff City are ready to make a move for Bordeaux midfielder Younousse Sankhare, according to TEAMtalk sources.

The Senegal international can play anywhere down the left, and number of clubs have been looking closely at the 29-year-old.

On Friday L’Equipe reported that a trio of British clubs were interested Sankhare with Bordeaux looking to cash in on the player this summer.

He still has two years on his contract with Les Girondins and Transfermarkt value the central midfielder at around the £4.5million mark.

Newly-promoted Sheffield United are also interested in Sankhare, along with Swansea, but Cardiff are in pole position and preparing a bid for the player.

Sankhare has made 265 Ligue 1 appearances and joined Bordeaux from Lille in January 2017 for £2.7million.

Can you beat someone if they were never in the race?

I guess that is an example of an ''If a tree falls in a forest but doesn't make a sound...'' type scenarios. :D

If a man says something in a forest and there’s no woman there to hear him,...is he still wrong ?

It is definitely not true.

Depends who the player is I guess, there are advantages and draws to both clubs.

Bit of a loaded question really because you are unlikely to agree regardless. But style of play, more globally known out of the two, focus on youth, history of allowing good players to move to bigger clubs. There are many.

So it depends what the footballer is looking for and what type of player he is in terms of which destination he chooses.

There is none, they're a nothing club and completely irrelevant, they'll soon disappear down the leagues

Sorry missed earlier posts was going to add it's not only way team plays that influence Players could be manager or other players even the place itself so even if you could buy him it's not necessarily certain that you would beat us to signature..

Aye that's what I said, there are loads of reasons that players will choose their specific destinations.

Some will prefer Cardiff, some will prefer Swansea depending on what the player wants. The list is endless, I was just asked for some reasons some would choose Swansea. I can equally give some that would choose Cardiff too:-

Successful manager, nicer City to live in, greater chance of immediate promotion, player that suits a more direct game..
