Extinction Rebellion protest - AVOID city centre

Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:30 am

Extinction Rebellion have blocked the road in front of Cardiff Castle, the result on Cathedral road - is a total standstill now, I heard it's the same on North road etc.

So if you were planning on going anywhere near the city centre / Cathedral road / north road - I wouldn't bother - as you'll be sat in traffic doing nothing - like me.....

You can laugh but actually can get fined for leaving engine running in these situations! Trouble with these people is they have been allowed to run free and cause unknown difficulties for elderly/disabled people with these protests! They actually whinged because they were being prosecuted for committing criminal offences... they are not above the law and its about time police and authorities got a handle on this or there will be even worse problems in future.... rant over!!

It’s a good job the Dinosaurs didn’t organise anything like this or they would have survived and eat everyone and we’d not be here to write about it

Bulldozer needed. They interviewed some mental bitch , with flowers in her hair last night, she said she’s not going to have children because the Earth is so bad. Good we don’t need her retarded DNA in the gene pool.

Jock if this demo obstructed an important citizen doing their business it won't be allowed! Camping on grass in front of city hall is normally illegal as it's a council park , time the police got some balls and moved them on businesses are being effected along with the workers.? Just because they don't work doesnt mean others should lose their jobs to pander to their whims..

Probably! The police actually said they doing nothing because of the right to legally demonstrate? Since when is it legal to block public rd with a Boat! If you put a stuffed cow there and protest at farming subsidies they would remove you asap and arrest you for obstruction, but what if they say we are staying for 2wks then what ? Police Cannot turn around and say its illegal when already allowed them there in 1st place! This country is a joke to the rights of citizens to go about there lawful business ...

I'd have more respect for them if they got on a £ 30 Ryanair flight to Warsaw and protested at the site of Poland's largest coal fired power station. which they'll soon start building. These protesters want the comfort blanket of liberal Britain if their gona take on the world.

Yes we pander to lazy unemployed or rich people who got nothing better to do! Police pathetic same as council both have the law on their side but neither willing to use it. Firstly they are camping in public park that is illegal so why have council allowed it? Secondly putting a boat on public rd and blocking it is also illegal same as anything else blocking a rd? To demonstrate on public rd you need permission to do it so why wasn't it denied in this particular area as it is denying people lawful access to their place of work ... as I've said what if went on for 2 wks then what? just allow it to happen because according to police it's ok to block a public rd !

They’re not sure what to do about the boat yet, until they decide it’s gender.

Old guy with green hair and beard on news yesterday said he lives in Portugal and breeds butterflies.I bet he didn’t walk here.

I suppose the irony of hundreds of cars and buses stuck in traffic jams giving off all sorts of damaging fumes is lost on the f*cking idiots sat in the middle of the town.

I'm sure they'll take all their litter away with them when they leave as well.

Think I'll go and exercise my human rights by taking a shit on their boat.

Probably not and the police are so useless may as well put on sailors uniform and man the boat for them...

As I've eluded to earlier there are laws about parks and rds and their use ? These people are breaking both laws with the blessing of council and police! What next farmer with stuffed cows blocking castle street peaceful protest at subsidies? According to police nothing they can do as peaceful demo? :laughing5:

I'm sure the police could do something if they really wanted do. Is is legal to cause an obstruction on a public highway inconveniencing hundreds of commuters? If it is, the law needs changing.

Steve
The law states it is illegal to block a public highway same as it us illegal to put tent up at county hall park ..... only way it can be done is with permission from council and police you simply cannot march or stage sit down on public rd without permit or permission from authorities ! You try turning up unannounced in castle street with anything and say you are protesting you will soon be moved or arrested for blocking public highway. But crime commissioner sums up attitude balance between peaceful protests and your right to go on with you business ? Can protest but you cannot do business can guess who side police and council are on.

I was under the impression we paid them to police. If they wont do it, we shouldnt pay.

A nice rebate and apology letter from the DI should do..
