If he could stay fit for a whole season (which is a big if) would you take him on a one year contract ? There would be no fee as he’s a free agent and the money saved on transfer fee’s could go towards his wages, I think he’d have too take a massive pay cut anyway and he could still score goals at championship level. He’d desperate to prove himself and earn himself a move to Chinese league team for the dollar or even sign an extra year with us if he scores goals and we get promoted ? I’d love to see him here but I think his days are numbered

Could be a great signing but could just as easily be another Ricky Lambert. One year 10k a week with a very healthy appearance / promotion bonus.

Didn't Frazer Cambell come under similar circumstances.I can't see the gaffer making the same mistake as Trollope did with Lambert.Sometimes when you try and comeback too soon you can get injured quickly again(Jazz comes to mind) and bellers was managed too by his own team while he was here.Could be worth a punt.

It would be a heck of a gamble (for any team) but wages part, what if it worked?

The guy's a dick, always seems to go for glory when a pass would have been a better idea.

But !

Any deal for him has to be on massively reduced wages and a rolling, yearly pay as you play deal, his injury record is shocking and could cost a club massive amounts over a contract

Would be a great signing for us if we got him on those terms otherwise I wouldnt even bother

Cardiff wouldn’t pay his wages and Sturridge wouldn’t want to play for us

So in my humble opinion it won’t happen

I think one of my personal favorites was someone suggesting that the Bundesliga top-scorer at the time Luka Jovic should join us if we stayed up to prove himself to get a big move the following season. He joined Real Madrid a few months later for £53m, but yep...he needed to prove himself at Cardiff first!

Sturridge would never drop down to the championship. And even if he would - I'm sure a few radiators would be just as effective in keeping the medical table warm. Pretty sure they're more cost effective.
