Our crap players -who'd want them ?

Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:27 pm

We've probably got the best players at the club we've ever had at the moment, and there are prospects of improving that even more. It's a brilliant moment in our history actually.

The other side of that is that we've got a few players who can't or won't play and although I keep hearing that they're going to move them on to free up funds it's hard to see who'd want them.
Tomlin and Madine are like f*cking human boomerangs because just as you think we've gotten rid of them they turn back up with a load of empty promises that they've changed. Talking of promises , surely we've heard enough of them from Ken now - he doesn't seem to be interested half the time and we can't keep just hoping he'll recapture a brief spell of excellent form which happened quite a long time ago.

There are others who need to go, but they're not a problem because although they might not get a chance with us they're competent players who can hold a place in other teams. It's the high price tag players I've mentioned who are the problem.

Who wants strikers who can't score a goal or an unfit midfielder with mental issues ? You'd have to be talking a much lower level of football to even hope they'd make the cut and League two teams don't have the money for them plus it'd be hard to persuade the players to take the drop in prestige and money.

Could we do a part ex with Madine to persuade a lower half championship team to sell us a decent striker ?
What about the other two ?

I'd call them squad players not need but

Tomlin will be a tough one because of his wages but someone may take a punt. To be honest I thought we pay have offered him a pay up by now.

Medine is another due to wages but he will get championship clubs wanting him and I think Warnock may keep him if not.

Connolly will get a championship club easy enough.

Healy a league two club may take a gamble on.

Madine and Tomlin will both play big parts for us next season. Confidence is key

got no issue with the wages personally.

not really a big deal this season, and perhaps itll teach the club a few lessons in handing out contracts

If we sign 3 more players, we’ll have a 29 man squad, which is amazing, haven’t a big squad full of quality is what we need in the championship with 2 games a week. Although I do think we should move on Connolly and send Healey out on loan, I probably would’ve sent out smithies on loan or sold him and kept Murphy as 3rd choice and Day 2nd choice, Murphy is a lot cheaper than smithies would be. Having 3 really good keepers is great but I think 1 (being smithies) will want to go out on loan in Jan due to frustration of game time, don’t think Day will get any game time either unless Etheridge gets injuried, smithies will probaly play in the cups again or smithies in one and day in the other.

He's rubbish.
Shouldn't be near the squad at this level, lacks in pretty much every area for me. Warnock for desperate upfront and again Healy was the answer along with the long list.

Confidence is one thing, delusion is another.

Why delusion? I must have missed the madine apology, saying he is going to change etc :? And Tomlin has undoubted talent,if he can keep his head on point, could be a real asset, anyway none of us know what will be,with either of the two :?: let's just wait until the season gets under way, before making judgment eh :?: :old: :bluebird:

Madine can score goals. For some reason he lacked the confidence for us. He is the only target man we have.

As for Tomlin if you think he's poor you should take up another sport to watch.

Most sports the mental side is more important than physical side.

For next season and with a run of games will prove your rubbish quote totally wrong

He won’t get a run of games here because he’s not good enough by a long way.
He’s 25 later this year and has done nothing. I hope he’s sold as he lacks any quality at championship level.

Healey needs to move on for his own sake.

The lad obviously knows where the net is but he needs to go somewhere (probably down a few divisions) and play a few seasons and then if he proves himself hell get a move somewhere.

He's not going to get thar chance here, it's just the way it goes sometimes.

I very much doubt he will get a run of games. If he does then I have big concerns for the season ahead as he is nowhere near the level of Ward, Medine, Zohore, Reid.

I have been thinking that for years especially post Ridsdale. That said the problem goes back years I can remember there being a right stink when Nathan Wigg was given a £800pw contract back in the early 90's and then turned out to be crap.

No 'crap' players at the CCS; just some that don't fit the manager's profile or the level

Some 'crap' posters though! ;) :laughing6:

Are you marking the posters then ?
The post got a few replies ,so I thought it worked really.
Is "players who don't fit the level " the politically correct way to say "crap players" ? I stand corrected then, and I thank you for your unique but equally important comment.

Should there be a new rule where all the players who "don't fit the level " get to score a goal so they don't feel left out ?

And are yo now,or ever been a professional scout?? Both these players (madine/tomlin)have managed to make a decent living, out of being crap :laughing5: by the way,did you manage to find that quote from madine, apologising and promising to change his ways yet? Can't seem to find it myself ;) :old: :bluebird:

Yeah, well that was the point of course. I was only trying to get a conversation going with a provocative headline which wasn't quite what it seemed when you read the opening statement. The newspapers do it all the time !
Surely the whole point of forums like this is to start a bit of a diverting chat when there's no real action on the football side and so I don't know why some people get so serious and actually a bit nasty about it. It's only a bit of fun.

Striker: Ken and Ward
LW: Murphy and Hoilett
RW: Mendez
AM : Reid and Paterson
CDM: Bacuna/ Vaulks
CM: Ralls
LB: Bennett and Cunningham
LCB: Bamba and Nelson
RCB: Morrison and Manga
RB: Jazz and Peltier
GK: Etheridge, Smithies, Day, Murphy
(Obviously one of these keepers is going to go).

We need a ST, CM and RW.

That leaves all but one of the below left out:
Damour
Tomlin
Madine
Connolly (who's contracts run out anyway I think)
Healey

Think the club just needs to cut their losses with the above. Personally think Madines been unlucky and will have a successful championship career again elsewhere. But hes made it clear he doesnt want to stay at Cardiff and I think Cardiff would be happy to get his wages off the books.

I agree the below can all go if anyone wants them at what we pay them, id personally also add Jazz to that list.

Tomlin
Madine
Connolly (who's contracts run out anyway I think)
Healey

Personally think Jazz deserves this last year. He has been unlucky with injuries and when he has played he has played well. Plus we have bruno and peltier as back up, so if it doesnt work we have cover till January at least.
