Club to make move for Cardiff City player in coming days, said to be keen on transfer

Fanatik

Saturday 8th June 2019

After finishing the season in 4th place, 6 points behind Super Lig champions Galatasaray, Trabzonspor have started their transfer operations for this summer, report Fanatik.

The Turkish club want to keep the young core of the team and are now looking to add a couple of experienced players for next season.

One of their targets is reportedly Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecuele Manga, and Fanatik say the Gabon international tops Trabzonspor’s shortlist.

Karadeniz Firtinasi are looking to sign a centre back in this window and Fanatik report Cardiff City player is keen to play for the Super Lig club as they will be in Europe next season.

It’s claimed Trabzonspor will make a move for Manga in the coming days and they will do everything they can to convince him to join the club. The 30 year old will become a free agent at the end of the month when his contract expires with the Bluebirds.

Manga played 38 games for Cardiff City last season.

Hope we keep him. He is our best centre half, and it was a pity Warnock didn't play him there from the start of the Pre m campaign.

So hang on, has he not signed a new contract? Or have we not activated his contract extension yet?

I assumed that as he was on our retained list that was announced yesterday that he is tied down to the club.

I wouldnt take a penny less than £15million

International and Premier league standard centre back who can cover right back.

Going by everyone's estimation of Etheridge transfer value then Manga should be a £30mill player

Didn't Warnock say we would definitely be activating the extension in his contract and said something like Manga's going nowhere?

Be surprised if he goes now. Next summer he can leave for free and earn himself a fat juicy signing on fee.

Be lucky to get five million for a player who will leave for free in a year.

Doesn’t matter. If the price is right for the club then everyone is available to be sold.

Seems like an unfounded rumour to me.

He is one player we have to keep hold of.. More than the fans' messiah Etheridge anyway.

Couldn’t agree more. We must try to keep our best players and along with Etheridge he’s one of them.

What the f.ck are we doing
Selling best best players for next to nothing, and then paying over the odds for players ,manga is a prem player and proved it .

I haven't seen anyone call Etheridge the messiah..
but someone that's a first choice player is more important than someone who is not...that's just common sense.
I do like Manga myself. but fact is if we were playing tonight and NW had everyone to pick from Manga could well be not playing..

Agree with your second bit. Warnock may go with Peltier-Morrison-Bamba-Bennett when all are available. I slightly disagree, and would put Manga in - probably for Peltier despite Manga's limitations in that position. I believe he'd be a better option than Peltier.

Etheridge is a decent goalkeeper and I hope we don't sell him. But he is replaceable, and nowhere near as good as some make out. If there was a compilation of his best saves last season, we'd be disappointed if he let most of them in, and his distribution leaves a lot to be desired.

Not saying he's not good enough, far from it. But he's some way off the level of Marshall and Heaton when they were at the club.

I'll have a go at the over the odds part.

Gary Madine £6mill
Leandro Bacuna £4mill
Lee Tomlin £3mill
Greg Cunningham £4mill
Alex Smithies £4mill
Neil Etheridge - free

People only remember the "TV SAVES"
They conveniently forget the poor goals conceded from his bad distribution and positioning.
I agree Marshall and Heaton were and still are better keepers

I would pick Manga too but that's not the point I was making..
as for Etheridge. best keeper we have had in years...I think turning down 8 million should show that ...but eh oh

Best defender we have - period!
If he wants to go it must be for no less than £15m

Manga and Etheridge - my favourite players last season ( Victor classy but a bit injury prone ). We should keep both if we want to bounce straight back up to Premier League.

Not one of them was over the odds, they were all pretty much bang on their market value at the time of buying.

Some may not have worked out here but that's a different matter.

I'm so glad you dont have a say in our transfer negotiations if you think £6mill for Madine and £4mill for Bacuna were good deals

That's £10mill for two players I wouldnt play in our development side

Turkish club to move for Cardiff City star Bruno Manga 'in the coming days' - reports

Bruno Manga was one of Cardiff City's top performers last season

By Tom Coleman / Media Wales

9th June 2019

Bruno Manga was one of Cardiff City's top performers last season

Turkish side Trabzonspor have reportedly identified Bruno Manga as one of their top transfer targets this summer.

The club are in the market for a centre-back and could make a move in the next few days.

Trabzonspor finished fourth in the Turkish Super Lig last season and would surely feel confident in landing the 30-year old given that they can offer European football.

Manga was one of Cardiff City 's strongest performers in the Premier League last season, and may well be one of the players who attracts interest this summer.

Goalkeeper and team-mate Neil Etheridge is already attracting admiring glances from the Premier League, with Aston Villa expected to go back with a second offer after seeing their opening gambit of £8m rebuffed.

Cardiff are believed to be keen on securing a much more sizeable sum for the Filipino, although owner Vincent Tan is understood to be keen on keeping Etheridge at the club.

Given his impressive performances in the Premier League it's likely Cardiff will take a similar view on Manga, who despite reports in other media outlets is not out of contract this summer.

It's understood Cardiff had the option of triggering a one-year extension on the Gabonese international's previous deal, although boss Neil Warnock admitted he was keen to tie the centre-back down on a longer-term deal.

Nevertheless, Manga is likely to be a man in high demand this summer.

Name me one manager in football whose never signed a few duds?

Any fee of around 4-6m these days is not garenteed to work out. You want a garenteed champ goal scorer you pay 15m+.
