Coventry City will groundshare at Birmingham City's St Andrew's for the 2019-20 season after failing to agree a deal to stay at the Ricoh Arena.
They had hoped to remain in Coventry but said the deadline for an agreement with Ricoh landlords Wasps has passed.
A club statement said a groundshare was necessary for Coventry to retain their place in the English Football League.
"We know full well that this is a very sad day for Coventry City and Sky Blues supporters," the statement added.

Didn't they have to share a ground a few years ago as well?

It's mad mate, I hered a bit about it on talksport on my way home from work earlier and aparantly there are talks to change the seats to black and gold.
Apparantly Wasps average 17,000 a game there, how on earth have they pulled that off?
I went on a Tuesday Night a good few years ago now in the Championship think there were about 12,000 there including about 1200 of us. The stadium was built for the Football Club and part owned by the council and a charity up untill a few years ago but is now owned by the Rugby Club I think (stand to be corrected).
They need a takeover and someone to build them a ground ASAP even if it's something small that can be built up over the years.
Ver sad state of affairs.

Ver sad state of affairs.
The council was in dispute with the football club forget why but the short of it is the council sold stadium to wasps without including Coventry in sale at time they were sharing it, Coventry owners isu took legal action against wasps and council, wasps decided to throw city out in retaliation hence Northampton! Latest move is because apparently wasps terms for sharing are unacceptable to isu also legal action is still a stumbling block..... isu are not the fans favourite owners probably because it's their fault this as happened in 1st place that's a rough guide to events

yes a sad state affairs but brum to coventry is 12 miles so hardly miles away
a couple of stops on the train or down the A45 by car . like us going to Newport to watch our home games

Not the point mate.
Like a home game for many of our fans, 18 miles to Cardiff for a home game for me but the point is Cardiff play in Cardiff and Coventry are not playing in Coventry.

as i stated a sad state of affairs when all is said and done
the locals in coventry are livid as you would expect .if Wasps and the council won't compromise what does the club do ?
i travel the A45 at least once a week so i know the area well so it's not such a hardship
not ideal but much easier than travelling to Northampton

I don't think hardship is the word you were looking for but yes it's better than it could have been.

i used the word hardship as the cost from coventry to brum is very cheap on train for instance and the trains are frequent too and only take about 20 minutes
the locals tell me they have never had a problem with birmigham city in the past either but don't hold aston villa in such high regard !

They want about £1.5 million rent.
That sounds excessive considering Wembly is costing the Fruit Chuckers £2m.
