Swansea's Daniel James is having a medical with Manchester United today.

James has one year left on his Swansea deal and the transfer is believed to be worth £18m - made up of £15m plus £3m in add-ons.

We understand other clubs were interested but he wanted to join United.

Don't get me wrong he could be a superb player in the future, but I do wonder if a player who's only been really good for 6 months and no one knew about 12 months ago is worth 15-18m. Hope he does really well though purely for Wales sake.

Yep remember Zohores little period of hanging in the goals for a short spell.

Hope he does well but one hell of a gamble.

From a measly £800/week the Jack's paid him to over £35k a week. Good luck to him. And hope it inspires him to play well for Wales.

He’s British, young and rapid and has shown great potential so I don’t think it’s much of a gamble for Utd.
For them to take a punt on 15 odd million is like us taking a gamble on a player for 1 mill.

A little more than twice the price of Madine

Well those figures are way out according to the Mail Online. They quote from £4,000 to £67,000 a week but who really knows!?

Hi all don't post normally but felt I had to comment. I was good friends with Daniel's father and for me instead of speculating which team he supports, just be glad that a talented young player who chose to represent Wales through his Dad's heritage is doing well for himself and his country of choice. Daniel pledged his allegiance to Wales from a very young age and played for all of the Welsh age groups. Surely it is good for Welsh football that we have as many of our players plying their trade at the highest level week in week out as this bodes well for the national team.
I can't imagine the mixed emotions he is going through at the moment during this very sad time for him and his family alongside this wonderful career opportunity. I for one know that Kevan (his dad) and his family are all very proud of Daniel's achievements and would/will be thrilled to see him play at the highest level.
