Yeah I agree with both your posts there.
It's heartbreaking, but in honesty I think people actually have forgotten and it makes me sad to see the liberal elite establishment trying to associate itself and its freakish value system with the generation of brave patriotic men who fought for what used to be our country.

I said the same to my wife this morning.

My generation was the first not to have conscription and I’m forever grateful for that, the guys who taught me my trade had fought in places like Malaya and Korea. The terror the troops on D Day must have felt when the landing craft door dropped yet they still jumped in and waded towards the German guns.

Do you know how many women were killed on the 5 beach landings which ITV alluded to ? If so, please enlighten me.

Mate, you said Ben Shepherd paid tribute to all those men and women who lost their lives on D Day, not specifically the beaches. I'm sure the programme featured mainly the actually landings on the beaches but he was right to say what he did as there was a bigger picture and sacrifices made on D Day than the actual landings themselves.
