Available for £5m which in this day is peanuts for a striker.

Bit odd they would put a 5m release clause as I'm sure he was being talked about last season at 19m.

If true their won't be a shortage of prem clubs taking a punt at that price.

I’d take him as long as he’s not on extortionate wages

Not sure how good he is now, but was a top level Championship Striker, and relatively poor Premiership striker, might be about the level we could get?

22 goals last season! Would be a decent signing in my opinion but as above posters have said there will be other clubs in for him I think

He's certainly the type of Championship proven goal scorer we should be looking at. £5m is good value but wages could be high as a result of that.

I'm guessing the £5m release clause is to safeguard WBA too as they will also have to be looking at FFP after failing to get up last season. Rondon will go but there may well be more leaving if they're still on Prem wages.

It's 5m this season, 5m next. They did it as a favour to him as he was one of their top players that didn't kick up a fuss in the summer when they went down. His wages haven't fallen much as a result, so he's on big money even by lower half PL terms. It's a bit of a non starter I think, and he's got no resale value.

Even if spend 12/15m in total with wages it will be good buy for championship...

Great player. He’s exactly what we need however I would be very very surprised if he is not playing premier league football next season. He’ll also be in a great position to demand a large signing on fee/high wages

Hell of a player. But as others have said. More like to be in Premier League. The only way we could get him is to break the wage structure and we all know that isn't happening...
