I truthfully don't know what control he has over the police and the ability to reduce crime.

Not long ago I was dating an officer in the Met, her blame was completely on Theresa May and the Tories who took a sh!t tonne of funding away from the Police (all forces not just the met) with the austerity measures and has affected their ability to tackle crime of every sort. Even told them at conference to basically shut up and "Get on with it"

I know the Met were selling off a large number of stations just so they could to help fund themselves. Reducing their presence in areas

Although I'm of the agreement that simply upping the numbers of officers isn't the answer and looking at the root cause of why crime (Particularly youth) is on the rise would be more beneficial.

The Met have started a recruitment drive recently. which suggests someone is getting something done.. I may be wrong, but I'm sure Khan isn't the one who has the powers on funding the police and reducing crime

I don’t think Sadiq Khan is a good mayor of London looking from the outside (don’t live in London so my opinion doesn’t really matter)

You have to be rather blind to think there isnt a knife crime problem in London. The person in charge of this is the Mayor of London. The current Mayor though seems to be preoccupied in making a name for himself by writing newspaper articles about the President of the US either that or increasing fines / taxes for congestion zones - and other such non crime issues.

The Mayor of London has ONE job - make London a clean and safe city to live in. I dont think his mind is on the job.
