HOW MUCH FOR TOP STRIKER

Tue Jun 04, 2019 3:44 pm

Just wondering how much are we prepared to pay sala was going to be 15 million
Granted this was the prem so just wondering is that to much for the championship?
Are we looking abroad for a top striker?
Personally i think we need a top striker to give us that lift we need to push for top spot in the championship.

A lot will probably say we are not spending that much in the Championship, but good strikers are few and far between, and this season surely bore this out
If there was one area where you have to pay big its a quality striker.

Got to be over 10m for decent championship level striker or 6m for lower league proven striker.

I totally agree. Hope we can get a gem from abroad tbh.

I really hope this isn’t the case but I can see us going another window without getting a decent striker, we may get one but can’t see it being a big one, warnock seems to struggle attracting the ‘top’ end players for the championship, I mean we got Murphy and Reid but that’s because we got promoted. I’m not sure if this is how I feel or it’s just the fact I don’t trust warnock spending money but this window is absolutely MASSIVE and will decide our fate for the next few years

we were not exactly looked upon as being serious contenders last time, I think that's probably changed quite a bit over the 2 years..

I think this also gives us a better chance of getting a decent loan in.

Warnock will have learned the importance of splashing the cash for a decent striker if he had we would have stayed up last season, he signed Sala and I think he will do it again with a £10Million or more Striker this window.

The only problem we have is the Sala situation where we may have to keep £15Million plus to pay Nantes before we can recover the money via legal claims from insurance companies?

BLUEBINA

we do have parchute payments and what i read 114 million from tv to fill the coffers, so money should not be an issue,
if it is an issue we need to look abroad rather than pay over inflated uk transfer fees.

Whats happening with Rhys Heeley ?

Im presuming he is good enough at championship level, would love to see some of the under 23's given a chance

The Top Striker in the Championship this season was a free transfer! It’s not the money you spent it’s getting the right player for the team? Madine 6m, Tomlin 3m, whereas Etheridge and Bamba free!

Healey is simply not good enough for a top Championship team unless as a squad player.

He's not quick enough nor does he score enough goals.

We either need a high quality loan or it's going to cost £10m+. The big worry is whether the Sala fee (if we end up having to pay it) get's factored in to FFP calculations. If it does then we could find ourselves in difficulty spending significant money I'd guess.

What makes you think he is good enough at Championship level? I think your massively underrating the championship.

Healy lacks energy, pace, isn't physical, poor in the air and doesn't have an eye for goal above league 2. He needs to be released.
