As for general protestors; a lot of them are 'paid by the state' to enable them to travel the country looking for causes to support, if you know what I mean!

there is a much older saying. pick your battles. is protesting against another countries elected leader really picking your battles ? or just being a hobby protester...the more protests the less notice is taken...that's obvious..
