Specksavers would have made a killing by me that season then.

I was the only one sticking up for him

I watched 75 minutes of alex ravel grit teeth and chase and chase and chase in one game..much to the pleasure of cheering fans but never getting within 5 yards of the ball, Ken comes on and makes 2 interceptions in the first few minutes by being in a sensible place to start with...

I suppose it would keep the physio company for most of the season

I wasn't knocking him. And I agree a football brain is better than stamina

Bony is about 35 years old I think.

He was excellent when banging them in for us, was actually the top goalscorer in the Premier League for the whole calendar year prior to him moving to Man City, above the likes of Van Persie, Aguero and Rooney... however when he went to the African Cup of Nations, he contracted malaria, this can stay in your system for years. Combined with lack of games, his body slowly stopped performing to the same level.

He has succumbed to age now unfortunately. He’s shot, even at this level.

Far too good for this league. If we signed him we'd go straight back up no question. Can see Everton or Bournemouth taking him. If Villa don't get Abraham back, they'd be an option too

agree
was an excellent signing for you lot the first time. and wishful thinking second time thinks me.

he was never the fastest but i have a couple of mates who suport Swansea that say taking that into account he was way off the pace on his return .

Probably a case of very limited options and a touch of desperation to be honest. Even the most hopeful of us could see that was unlikely to work out... Especially at an eye-watering 100k a week!

The signing coincided with a court case against the club/his agent, so think it may have been a beneficial scenario all round (off the field) that the transfer went through at the time. No doubt we had by far the worst of that decision. After being in the PL for so long, the thought of (and actual effect) of relegation becomes a whole lot worse and decisions become more and more baffling, Andre Ayew is another, although I think he does still have a fair bit to give to someone, just not at the price we paid.
