Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo, said: “We’re delighted to take Cardiff City over to America for our 2019 pre-season tour.

“The suggestion is that this trip will provide a tough test for the squad ahead of what we are all hoping will be a competitive and successful 2019/20 Championship campaign.”

Neil Warnock added: “I think it’s a great opportunity to get the lads away for ten days and play three tough matches at great facilities.

“We’re also hoping to soon confirm an attractive home match against foreign opposition for the final Saturday before the season starts.”

Seems like too much travelling involved there, excluding the travel to and from Cardiff they'd have to travel around 2000 miles in a week just to play 3 games. (according to Google maps)

That's a bit of a jump up from Cornwall!

We normally start the season well, I hope that doesn't knacker them too much!

Why?
Isn't that usual, compared to who we are playing we will be the big team and they will want to sell the tickets.

Just like we will have to pay for any decent team to come here for our home game.

Edmonton is a strange one as they don't have a football team, closest one is here in Vancouver. Hopefully a decent team gets announced

May be fine for the players club but as a supporter its a shame they are going so far. We did the Devon and Cornwall tour last year and it was great. Was hoping they would do somewhere in Western Europe this year such as France. North America is not the best place to be for Warnock if he hasn't concluded all the his transfer negotiations either.

Normally it's a decent team coming to city from usually Europe so cost is minimal compared to travelling thousands of miles to USA to play against comparatively small teams. Plus then go on to Canada another couple of thousand Miles to play another relatively small team we are not exactly a big draw are we? So got to ask question why is someone footing a bill that they are not going to recoup which is normally the case ? :old:

In the flip side what t would be the point in City doing it at a cost?

These tours abroad are all about money. Clubs don't do it for the quality teams they play. No doubt there will be sponsorship involved as well.

We have just been in the premiership, probably a big coup got these teams.

Got a point there, perhaps it was signed off when we were in the Prem. ;)

Home game is the Saturday before the season starts, they are trying to get a "glamour" team.

No complaints from me about going there and it does make change and does get our name out there ? Just curious as to why someone from over there would bank role us even if we was a premier league team ! presume this person must have interest in all 3 clubs to sponsor us or what's in it for them? :old:
