Ryan Giggs,Wales star met by police at airport after complaints of poor behaviour on flight

Wales football bosses have confirmed they were forced to look into a complaint regarding the behaviour of one of Ryan Giggs' players on the flight back from their recent training camp in Portugal.

Reports in other media outlets claim £11m teenage star Rabbi Matondo had to be escorted from the plane by police following allegations of disruptive behaviour.

Matondo has strenuously denied any wrongdoing.

The incident allegedly occurred on an easyJet flight from Faro to Bristol Airport on Tuesday evening, when some members of the Wales squad were heading home from the training get together on the Algarve.

Giggs took his Wales players to Portugal to prepare for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers with Croatia and Hungary, with Matondo named in his latest squad earlier this week.

Police confirmed they were called to a flight landing in Bristol on Tuesday night, but have added that no further action has been taken.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to a plane arriving from Faro on Tuesday night and spoke to a number of passengers about their poor behaviour.

"Words of advice were given to those passengers. No criminal offences were committed and no-one was detained."

An FAW spokesperson said: "The Football Association of Wales is aware of a complaint made on board a flight into Bristol Airport concerning a member of the men's national squad.

"The matter was resolved swiftly and the Association will not be making any further comment at this time."

An easyJet spokesperson said: "Flight EZY6008 from Faro to Bristol on 28th May was met by the police upon landing as a result of a passenger behaving disruptively on board.

"Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour.

"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's priority.

"We would like to thank passengers for their understanding."

Because Giggs is the manager and its down to him to control his players players when they are under his management.

Giggs cant be at fault we are not talking about a bunch of school kids We are talking about an international player To have police called to a plane , the behaviour must had been bad by someone involved
It may well be that the player was involved but the player may have been defending himself against some sort of verbal or physical attack

No he wasn't it was some of the squad heading back to the UK not an FAW sanctioned flight. Giggs can't get any blame here.
