Omar Bogle & Co

Thu May 30, 2019 12:58 pm

It's not looking as if Portsmouth want him or Sheffield Utd want Gary Madine.
I don't think the Lee Tomlin situation is clear at Peterborough and we've got a few players on the books who we can't get rid of.

In the mean time we're apparently thinking of recruiting a bloke who's being released by a 2nd division German team , so that'll probably be another one on big wages we can't get rid of.

What about a bulk loan / free transfer deal with Newport County. Buy one, get one free - that sort of thing.

Pompey keen on Bogle apparently.
There’s a thread above that contains the report.
Know what you mean though; we do seem to be constantly carrying dead wood.

all clubs do its the nature of the game..
Swansea had a dozen players out on loan last season...and not all kids , players that had cost them 60 mill plus.

Portsmouth are apparently keen on Omar Bogle, Kenny Jackett has said so himself. And anyone who's actually seen Lewis Holtby (German international) will know he's a good player who only stayed with Hamburg when they got relegated out of loyalty and they actually started a petition for the club to re sign him which shows how valued he was there. As for Tomlin, Madine, etc we've just got to hope that some mugs in the championship/league 1 will take a punt on them

How do you know there’s no interest in Bogle and Madine?
Holtby could be a great acquisition if the salary is right for the club.

More negative shite.

yes it is a bit...all clubs have this problem and some much worse than ourselves as I pointed out the with Jacks..

i do get some fans not wanting to waste a penny and just seeing it from a Cardiff point of view but it does get pointed out regular that compared to others we do fine..even finishing top in value for money tables..

Didn't say I knew, I said it's not looking as if they're interested, and it's not.
You say Holtby could be a great aquisition, and he could, but there's usually a reason a player gets released by a second division club and the chances are that he's passed his sell by date.
I think your comment about "negative shite" is unfair because if anything I'm generally a bit more optimistic than most , but if we've got ambition we need to set our sights higher than this, and we're not in a position to give fading players a last chance to shine because that's what you do when you're hoping to hang on in a league rather than intending to win it

To be fair, Sir Jim is not usually negative, and I know he was convinced we would finish in the top ten of the PL last season, so you could say he was almost way too optimistic.

That's what following Cardiff for half a century does to you. I think most of us who have stuck with this club for so long must be lacking something upstairs. A few more years at the CCS should ensure that I can be legitimately sectioned, and removed from normal society.

I think a lot of his posts prove that!
