A weird question but..
Anyone remember the mid season friendly that was organised between Chasetown and us? 2 coaches went up only for it to be called off.
We all ended up at Rushall Olympic and tripled the crowd! We were given crates of beer by Rushall as a thank you!
Anyone remember who Rushall were playing?

What a trip that was. Took over half the ground and their poor left back took stick all game. Took it well and applauded us all at the end haha

Stumped me there, I don't remember that, why was it called off?

I don’t think we were playing them in a friendly, we must have had a week off because we got knocked out of the cup/ non league weekend and a trip was arranged to Chasetown
Maybe it was waterlogged/ frozen pitch

That's makes sense, cheers Sam.
I went To Bolton in the 90s in the Cup when it got controversially called off when we were in Birmingham, the supporters Club had two coaches one went home and o e went to Villa vs Darlington, they cordoned us down off in the end by the tunnel, good times.

Remember being on the way to Cardiff for our match against Leicester at CCS a few years ago, only to then hear on the radio that it had been postponed.
Frozen pitch.

Me and my nipper made it to the Reebok just as it was called off. Furious, stormed into the stadium / hotel reception area. A suit saw me from inside a meeting room, came out, apologised.......and organised a stadium tour, including changing rooms, free beer and a large platter of sandwiches by way of an apology. Nice.
Also remember parking up outside Gillingham's ground for a night game and thinking it was quiet. Then saw a billboard saying it was called off because of snow!! Long poxy way home!!

That's odd, I was just going to reply that I had also travelled to that game, however, when I thought about it I remembered it was a league game at Bolton, but I believe in the late 70's, possibly early 80's that I had travelled to and obviously a different occasion to the one you are mentioning. It was called off just as we arrived outside the ground. We then headed to Rochdale's ground to see them take on Darlington in an old Fourth Division game. I think there were about 6 coach loads of us and swelled the attendance that day!

Same game, longer trip. Me and my Leicester supporting mate travelled all the way back from Spain to watch it. Not at all happy with Ridsdale for not investing in under soil heating !

X Grangetown, yes it was Workington Town that Rochdale played that day, was their only away win of the season and did go out of the league at the end of the season.
