They obviously want him off the wage bill, what a stupid thing to do, I hope they get away with sacking him in one way, but as they are a competitor, I hope he appeals and has to stay there wasting money :laughing6:

I would take him on a rolling yearly pay as you play deal but that would be his lot, but it would be nowhere near his current wage.

It's a shame because he has a lot of talent but is let down by a poor attitude

There is no doubting he is a quality player at championship level when his head is right, he is a lot like Ravel Morrison in many ways.

Why would you not be interested if he is available for free and on a short cheap contract or pay as you play ?

He is still a good player he just needs the right management, when he gets his head straight he Is a premier league quality player. It wasnt long ago he was touted at £30mill+

He got 20 goals whilst playing for West Brom in the premier league.
It was widely reported than Spurs were interested at around 30mill at the time. Also if I remember right Newcastle made a 20mill+ bid aswell. He has just led his country into there very first African cup of nations tournament. Reading reports his form for them is much different than that at Stoke.

My point is as a player he is very good when his head is in the right place. He is also better than anything we currently have in our squad. He has had a bad few years at stoke but that doesn't mean he is a poor player, he just needs the right club and manager to rediscover his form.
He would be a gamble yes but if we can get him for free on a pay as you play deal he is a no brainer for me.

Berahino is exactly the sort of player City dont need to sign.

I'm not sure even Warnock could handle this guy. He must have a heck of an agent to get a 5 year deal in the first place. Talented footballer but flawed in everyday life.

Exactly.
Warnock and the current City squad thrive on team spirit, comradeship, etc.
This guy is a waste of space.

I live in the midlands and saw him play once for Stoke last season. I kept an eye on him as he was such a prospect at one time. He was terrible looked at least a stone overweight and totally uninterested. He was subsistuted after 60 minutes and should have come off much earlier. The view of Stoke fans is it was a massive mistake giving him such a long contract and this is a heaven sent opportunity to get rid of him.Think he is on £60,000 a week. Don't touch with a ten foot barge pole.
