Wales fans are all saying the same thing after Jonny Williams helps Charlton beat Sunderland at Wembley -

Jonny Williams will always have a place in Wales football fans' hearts.

The 25-year-old hasn't had much luck of late.

Last season, while on loan at Sunderland from Crystal Palace, he captured the hearts of viewers as he dealt with the pressures of injury and confidence issues during the Netflix documentary 'Sunderland 'Til I Die'.

"I had great support from the Netflix documentary and it showed that there were some really nice people that can see that life is bigger than football sometimes," Williams told the BBC in the build-up to Charlton's play-off final against the Black Cats.

"It was tough, there's no hiding from that and it was a tough time in my career because I went to Sunderland at the start of the season with the hope of doing really well and hoping to help them get promoted. Unfortunately I ended up getting injured."

On Sunday, Williams came off the bench with 20 minutes to go to help new club the Addicks beat his former employers in dramatic circumstances. It was his quick free-kick that led to Patrick Bauer's winner in the 94th minute.

It prompted a big outpouring of love from football fans, who were quick to point out how well deserved it was for Williams after a career that has been blighted by injury to date.

Is he available for Wales' upcoming qualifiers next month? "I've got no holidays booked yet! I always have that in mind in case I get the call-up. I'm desperate to get back involved and get back to being part of it," he added.

When did he go bald and grow a Gunnar beard?

Thought it must have been a different Jonny Williams when I saw him coming on yesterday.

made the comment that jonny Williams had done more, and been more effective in the 10 minutes that he had been on the pitch, than anybody else from both sides in the previous 70 mins or so.
