This could be interesting

Qatar is reportedly in talks to invest in Leeds United.

The Finanical Times report that the Gulf state are looking to enter English football for the firs time and are in negotiations with the Elland Road hierarchy.

It is claimed that the Gas-rich country are looking to purchase as much as a controlling stake in the Yorkshire club, in news that will send shockwaves around the rest of the Championship.

What ever happened to not being able to own two clubs who may have to play each other in competition ?

Surely there is a conflict of interest to the owners, what happens if they get leeds into the champions league and they get drawn against PSG ?

But Leeds aren't in the Champions league and won't be for some time.

Pity we can’t get them to invest in us as Quatar airways are now flying from Cardiff?

I think their potential investment in a Championship club was mooted a few months back with Leeds and Villa being the favourites if they were looking to create a Man City.

As Leeds failed in the Play-Offs they are now looking favourites.

For this sort of investment you need the potential for massive crowds or be based in London.

Could we make a case to be as big as Leeds if in the Champions League???? Probably not.

If this comes off lets hope the League don't let them take the P**S out of the FFP rules.

Think there is a maximum % you can have in more than one club hence a percentage as been mentioned in article, because of conflict of interests.. doesnt tan have 3 clubs inc city but other 2 only part owner ?

If we had millions pumped in, and I mean millions, we’d easily pull 40,000 gates. We get over 30 with no investment and battling relegation....does Eland rd even hold 40,000 anymore? It needs 3 new stands doesn’t it?

Why would anyone waste vast sums of money investing in those scummy bottlers?

In theory PSG could buy a Leeds youth player for £70m loan him back for free and that way invest in Leeds

Could be horrific

Yep
All sorts of dodgy loopholes in a setup like that.

Think you find that they will come under scrutiny if transfer fee is abnormally high for a player who's worth lot less.... same with sponsorship that is out of tilt with market value of product ( stadium name) ect so yes would benefit hugely if this happens but by how much time would tell :old:

True but Derby managed to buy their own stadium for millions and got away with it.

Could be interesting

Who decides what a player is worth ?
Leeds have some very good youngsters, would not be unusual for a team (PSG) to buy one for £30mill . That would give Leeds a huge boost financially

Imagine if Leeds where under a transfer ban but needed a striker because they where close to the play offs.

There owners would be able to buy a team with the other club and then loan them back to Leeds and then sign him permanently after the transfer ban has ended.

That’s outrageous no club should be allowed to have an owner with multiple clubs so that these things can’t happen.

Oh wait

How many clubs does Vincent Tan own?

How did we sign Zohore again?

Same old embarrassing crap from our fans.

Because they are a massive club with a lot of past tradition, and Leeds is the third largest populated City in the UK, so the potential is massive :bluebird:
