Well here we are again coming back down to the Championship, we have had our season in the sun and I am not sure whether we saw enough of the sun to get a tan, but hey ho we gave it a good shake.
At the end of the day we were never going to survive in the money laden Premier League. The Premier League should be renamed the Premier 123 league because that's the number of sub divisions it has. Its top division in which the big guys can spend £75m on one player, lets face it how the hell does anyone compete with that. You then have the middle league your Evertons, Leicesters, West Hams etc they can spend £25m - £40m on a player, then you have the bottom division which £15m is the norm, that bottom division is where we tried to compete in with basically a good championship team but here is the real issue the difference between the bottom of the Premier and the top of the Championship is massive.
The whole thing is money driven and the size of the steps between all those parts are too big for good championship clubs such as ours.
Unfortunately we have had to come back to our natural level which is a good championship club, we will enjoy being there next season and the fact that we will have the parashot payments means that we can compete at a good level.
I for one am not sorry we are back in the Championship, ITS A PROPER COMPETATIVE LEAGUE WITH PROPER TEAMS, WE ARE A PROPER TEAM, I am going to enjoy it
