Neil Warnock: "There’s still life in us "

Fulham 1 Cardiff City 0

CARDIFF CITY FC

Monday 29th April 2019

“We’re obviously disappointed,” began the Gaffer. “You can’t say that we didn’t try, we had about ten shots in the last ten minutes – we had five or six great opportunities.

"We should score some of those chances, really. We could have been a little more intense in the first half, perhaps. On another day, we would have scored two or three.”

Ryan Babel’s seventy-ninth minute strike sealed the points for the Whites, and the City boss conceded that the outcome was determined by a moment of quality.

“There was only one player on the pitch that would have scored their goal, and, unfortunately for us, he took it well. It was a cracking goal.

"I thought we were by far the better team in the second half, but we need to be more clinical. I think the luck has been against us for a few weeks, but today I thought the referee was excellent.”

“I can’t fault the lads. They’ve been fabulous all season. We haven’t finished yet. There’s still life in us.

"We’ve got Palace and Man United, and we’ll just go and try and do our best.

"Who’s to say we’re not still in the fight? We’re not out of it yet. You just don’t know in football.”

FFS Neil Warnock admitted he’s got selection wrong on one of the most important games in our history, and it’s not the first time this season,I think he is a charismatic likeable person, but not a Premiership manager, I think he has now been found out. We need a manager with vision, there are better Managers out there, dispute what he says, he won’t take us back up next season. Time to part company, we can’t be used as a retirement step stone for Warnock. He needs to go, Cardiff must be ruthless and more ambitious, we must look for a World class manager or risk getting stuck in a hole with Warnock in my opinion
. The only thing I would say In Warnock’s defence is, Warnock was not backed by Vincent Tan in the Summer Transfer window, it was pathetic business, and it will be one of the main reasons why Cardiff City will be relegated this season,It meant Cardiff were playing Championship football in the Premier league. Sadly for the fans, Vincent Tan doesn’t deserve such brilliant most loyal fans in football.Cardiff needs a new owner that can take this great club to a higher level and it’s not Vincent Tan in my opinion.

You seem to think a lot...with so little of substance to back it up!

"Warnock been found out" :?

Given where most expected this squad to be this season, he has actually done pretty well

"Better managers out there" :?

Go on, name some for our limited resources and (possibly) being in his Nirvana of The Championship?

"Used as a Retirement stepping stone" :?

Ae you saying he hasn't or will not put his heart and soul into the job at Cardiff City FC?

"Must look for a world class manager" :?

I think 'Pep' is contracted to Man City for another season or two and 'Fergie' won't come out of retirement; although it is a fact that Jose is currently available and willing to work on a shoe-string budget...NOT!

"Warnock not backed by Tan" :?

Actually, that is a fallacy (an untruth) and Vincent Tan made considerably more money available for players but many of the players approached declined either to speak to or join a club perceived (largely through the media) to have no chance of survival in the Premier League and it was similar in the January window when a number of failed attempts to sign players was then exacerbated (made worse) by the tragedy of Emiliano Sala

"Vincent Tan doesn’t deserve such loyal fans" :?

Firstly, throughout our history, the supporters are for the team and not the owner but I would ask 'where's the loyalty from the likes of you at this moment when there is still a chance of survival?'

"A new owner who can take the club to a higher level" :?

I think that one made me wince the most; so go on then, taking away the obvious red issue, name me a Cardiff City owner who has ever 'advanced' Cardiff City FC more than Vincent Tan has?

We're (for now at least) in the English Premier League; how 'high' do you think we can go?

I'm not sure if you're just young and naive, on a wind-up or just plain daft; but whichever it is, I don't think I've read such an embarrassing mis-mash of complete rollocks for some time..and that's going some!

Good post Chris and well thought out.
I think your very last sentence sums him up ..... a fool who just spouts nonsense.

I can understand people who would like a new direction, manager wise, especially if we were to get straight back into the premier league but at least make some valid points if you want Warnock out.

I’m not sure which of his points was the most bizarre but the - the can’t be used as a retirement stepping stone - was hilarious!!

Oh by the way OP Can you forward to the club details to the club of a more experienced and successful manager at championship level in case we go down remember it has to be a manager with more than eight promotions on his CV :laughing6:

My response to that is not as well written or thought out as Sven's but here goes......

"You are taking absolute shite". !!!

Under Vincent tan this club has enjoyed some of the best success it's had in modern memory. We have been promoted to the highest league in the land twice. What other owner would you like us to have FFS?! He has corrected his errors of judgement and as far as I'm concerned that is in the past. If tan wants Warnock next year then i for one would be delighted for him to stay and try to improve on his impressive record for promoting teams. He has energised this club.
