WE WILL STAY UP

Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:36 pm

One game at a time but we can beat Palace to take it to the final day and then also win at Old Trafford as Utd are in crisis and will have nothing to play for. I don’t believe Brighton will get anything from last two games and even a luck point won’t be enough.

I believe in Warnock and in this team despite everything and they have done us proud this season. Allegedly we have half the wage budget of Huddersfield.

I agree that brighton will get no more points, and we are capable of beating palace who are now on holiday and wont go out of their way to help brighton, but beat man u away??? on saturday we played a team that has been relegated for a month in a must win game, we had our first shot on target in the 80 minute, so to think we can go to old trafford and win is a bit far fetched in my eyes.

Correct, it's not impossible but extremely unlikely

Even Palace pose a very real threat away from home so that would be a surprise win never mind getting 3 points at Man Utd.

I really thought we would stay up until the Fulham result. I desperately hope I'm wrong but I just can't see us getting two wins.

Both games are very tough, very unlikely we will win both. But about as likely us the thought of us getting top 2 last season.

Palace will be tough but it's a winable game, if that happens and we go to united with a glimmer of hope who knows.

The problem is Man Utd will almost certainly have something to play for, a place in the champions league. Their next game is against Huddersfield and they will almost certainly win that and be playing for a championship league place which they will bust a gut to get in. Out record against the top six is played 11 lost 11.

I wish i had your optimism but i can't see us getting a single point

I tend to agree that we won't get anything at Man Utd :thumbright:

However, there's every likelihood that they will have missed out on Champions League places by then if Chelsea beat Watford on Sunday. They will be, at best, 3 points behind if Chelsea win and Chelsea's goal difference is 8 better than Utd.

I was praying Chelsea or Arsenal would win yesterday and that by the time we play UTD they would be out of it. As it is, they could realistically hope for a Chelsea defeat at Leicester and would therefor only need to turn around the goal difference. Where as they may have gone with the kids they could be right up and at us with the very best they have. Still I'd prefer to be in that position than having had our fate settled on Saturday against Palace though.

That goal difference could easily be down to 5 or 6 after the Chelsea Watford game and Huddersfield Man utd games though. If that was the case they may fancy their chances of turning it around.

Nothing is completely impossible in football, but this is almost as impossible as it gets. I said on here a while back that I thought our final four games would get us between 3 and 4 points. That is begining to look like being a bit over optimistic, despite me being accused of being pessimistic by one poster when I made that prediction. I believe 3 points is the best we can hope for now, and I base that in the hope that Palace will already be in holiday mode when we play them. If they are not, I fear that our fate will already have been sealed before we go to Old Trafford. I am still hoping for a miracle, but realistically I think my revised prediction would have to be 1 to 3 points, and even that may be being a bit optimistic.

I think between 1 - 4 points is about right, 6 seems a long shot to me. I don't agree its about as impossible as it comes though ive seen much stranger things happen in football. Like ive said before, tough game but winnable against palance then last game of the season who knows, is it that impossible we keep it tight for 85 minutes then get a freekick or a corner etc.

If Chelsea win their next game (Watford home) Man Utd are out of the top 4 race virtue of goal difference, they are 8 goals worse off than Chelsea who also play Leicester away in the final game.

 Exactly, we need a big atmosphere vs Palace to ensure we have the best chance. Everyone on here is negative due to Saturday, and understandably so. But if we can beat Palace I bet there will be a different vibe on here next week :bluescarf:

Beat Palace which will be difficult then it's down to a one game shoot out and anything is possible. (Pray Brighton get no more than a point)

Mon Apr 29, 2019 4:21 pm

Attitudes and tactics will need sorting out or we won't beat Palarse never mind the manure.

Unlikely but possible, loving the positivity, I've tried but it's fully drained out now after the last four games :(

It's funny but I bet you those who are mostly negative and have us down will be the same ones who go OTT if we beat palace and Brighton lose.

your correct..

so many other factors in this..Liverpool draw at Newcastle and city win at home to Leicester a point at brighton will then be enough..maybe even a defeat .
then there is the GD between Chelsea and man utd..
