To be fair, as doom and gloom as it was yesterday. If we can win at home against Palace (Every chance that could happen) at the very least it makes for an exciting finale. Yes the odds are against us, and I am already looking at the championship next season, even though I'll still have the annoying human feeling of faith as long as there's still a chance.
I'll cheer the team on and truly will believe if we're still in it during the Man U game, I'll be enjoying every second of it and hoping for the best as will all of us. But considering the quality we still have to face in our next two games. Let's ease the pain a little bit by having a nice little chat about next season.
"IF" we're relegated to the championship, where do you realistically see us finishing next season?
Personally, with a little bit of investment for a Right Back, Striker(s) & Central midfielders, I think that could be enough to make us more competitive than the season we got promoted. We still have our solid defence, our counter attacking pace in Mendez-Laing, the experience and creativeness of Hoilett. I genuinely think we have enough to finish second again, but this time possibly chasing first place, instead of struggling to hold down second.
Look, I'll be okay with playoffs, as nothing is guarenteed in football, especially the championship. But with Warnock in charge, with quite a helpful transfer budget to hopefully grab the 3 or 4 players we were missing in our promotion season (because let's face it we definetely need a bit better than Pilkington & Kadeem Harris as our super subs next season), I genuinely believe we're in the healthiest positions out of every championship team next season. Fulham need to sell alot, and cant buy too much due to their over spending last summer. Huddersfield just look awful similar to the Sunderland double relegation. Yet we're in a very healthy financial state, with key players on long term contracts, with - by the sounds of our manager - no intention of letting anyone of them go.
I'm excited for next season whatever happens, and will still hold out hope that we can win our next 2 games (Because Huddersfield MIGHT muster up a draw at best against Arsenal) but that won't be enough for them if we manage 2 wins...just remember that

. Keep the faith, but if worst comes to the worst we have every right to be excited next season.
