Wow just wow.
Here we are still not relegated and 2 games to go.
16 clubs spent more than us, those below us already had established premier league players.
Pundits said we'd be first to be relegated some even suggested lowest points in premier league history we've more than doubled that.
New signing tragically lost in a freak accident.
2 teams relegated with still 6 games left.
Lost bamba our talisman, lost Ralls, lost Paterson.
Given all the above we still get crappy fans on here calling for Warnock to go.
If we get relegated hopefully it'll clear out some of you fans that think this a bad season.

Why not?
Warnock got the most important team selection wrong in a game we couldn't afford to lose.
Whatever league we're in next season Warnock isn't the person the move the team forward.

So you'll ignore his work over 3 seasons and base his future with the club on 1 game....yep that makes total sense.

I'm basing his future on the last 36 league and 2 cup games, not just the 1.

But choosing to ignore every statement above.
Carry on.

Not ignoring them at all. Just my opinion on what I think is best to take the team forward next season.

WelshPatriot, let me get your post right. We get relegated and it's a GOOD season?

Personally i'm very disappointed that a dogshite outfit like Brighton is going to pip us at the post. It's been a frustrating season of one step up two back and I feel gutted that we haven't given it a better shot. i'll be still supporting the City in whatever league we're in but relegation hurts and I just think that this season we have been so close to being good enough and that makes it worse.

If I'm up honest I've enjoyed the ride, I've enjoyed proving crap pundits wrong.
I've enjoyed Warnock and the way he can wind people up.
I'm a realist, do I think any other manager would have done better...no
I've seen far worse times.
For people to call for Warnock to be sacked is in my opinion farcical.

I just find it disappointing that its always the case that our club historically finds it impossible to remain at this level for more than a season or two.
I know its not a given but the vast majority of big area clubs have given their supporters on average 40-50 seasons at this level.
Sat Apr 27, 2019 9:33 pm
I agree with OP although realistically we're cooked.
Not a time to blame perhaps our greatest manager, but to regroup and win the championship which, as long as we don't melt down , is a very realistic aim.

No, so grateful to what he has done for us and the last few seasons has been the best for a very long time and we've got Warnock to thank for that and I really want him to stay. We've been riddled with bad luck and hopefully we can bounce straight back but relegation hurts.

Whatever anyone’s stance is on Warnock, they’ve their right to it. Ultimately, fact of the matter is, we are in our league position because of some poor decisions Warnock has made across the season. He’s set us up wrong against teams we could’ve gone for points against, etc., he’s often made his substitutions too late (something he got away with at lower level, but not the PL), he’s never had the sense to protect our goal difference in games where we find ourselves clearly on the losing end 20-30 minutes before the end, etc. Hell, he said the other week that he’s not worried about our goal difference as our survival won’t come down to goal difference... yet here we are, two games from the end of the season, knowing we MUST win at Old Trafford because our goal difference will send us down otherwise (assuming we are lucky enough to beat Palace, of course).
In the Championship, you could often see how Warnock’s half time bollocks we’re changing games in our favour, etc. In the PL, I often feel like we’ve picked up points in spite of Warnock, rather than because of him.
He’s done great for us, but I’m not blind to the fact that he’s made some shocking decisions that have cost us more than the 5 points that we find ourselves from safety.

Disagree to an extent. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and just cause people want a change and possibly a different style of football doesn't mean they don't support Cardiff or they're plastics. I personally think Warnock should stay on for another season and don't see a better option to get us promoted next season but I cant say I particularly enjoy the style of football we play even though I agree its a successful formula to get out of the Championship. Its a football forum you're gonna get different opinions on who should take the club forward.

His away set up all season has been awful we should have been pressing teams higher up the pitch and we would have easily stayed up.
However those calling for him to leave are idiots. He has done wonders for our club and their not a single manager out their in the world of football who would have a better chance of getting promoted next year. Wouldn't surprise me if he got us back up and then retired.

The OP is spot on.
There are some real wankers on this board and they know who they are. "Entitled to their opinion" is one thing, but the f*cking dross, negativeism and pure bile some spout is something else.
We would not be in this position if it wasn't for ONE man, I'll repeat ONE man, and I'm not talking about the groundsman.
So easy to forget where we were........try and rememeber where we were.....go on, I dare you.......try and remember. Quite frankly we were fucked, dropping quicker than a lead balloon.
Yet by some miracle we found ourselves in the Premier League, not because of the groundsman, but because some old upstart had vision, foresight, self belief, team mentality and amazing man management skills to turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.
Believe me I am hurting as much, if not more, than the next guy. But that pain does not cloud my vision of the truth and the facts. I dread to think where we would be now if Neil had not come in to save us. That is exactly what he did........he SAVED US.
So go and spout your crap, with your short term, one game memories. You will never convince me that this has not been the best ride ever.
Sun Apr 28, 2019 5:08 am
Bounce back with a win against Palace? It could go to the last game! Let the rollercoaster ride continue!!
Sun Apr 28, 2019 6:20 am
Wasn’t backed in the Summer.. done well on a shoestring.
Players still can’t pass to each other.
Sun Apr 28, 2019 6:55 am
The long term remit of the clubs owner is for us to be debt free & stable. As such we have tried to survive with the lowest expenditure & wage bill of any team in the league. On that basis the fact we got so close to staying up is testament to the skill & hard work of Warnock/Blackwell & Jepson, and all the squad.
Warnock for me still deserves our 100% support for everything that he's achieved.

Spot on, we need NW more than ever next season.
Lets not forget where we were with Trollope in charge.
Remember a club is for life not just the PL.

Even if we had survived we’d have been in the same situation next season as pre season it would have been equally difficult to sign decent enough players to secure safety.
As it is City need to now start looking for 3 new midfield players to replace the 3 going plus other areas of the squad.
Only blessings on going down are I’ll see more 3pm football and won’t watch the top teams trample all over us. We’ll still though get the wrong end of referees decisions.
Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:03 am
For my view I agree with the OP and I don’t think anyone else could have done better than Warnock.
However, he isn’t blameless, he isn’t some kind of ‘Sir’ or demigod like others believe and he’s made big mistakes IMO.
I feel although Warnock has put us in this great position - he is ultimately responsible for our relegation with bad decisions.
I’m glad he’s staying for next season but if we’d have managed to stay up I’d have liked to seen him move aside for a new manager to move things on and try to progress. Who that new new manager would have been is now pointless to guess.
