Total lack of ambition.

Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:08 pm

Got us done today. If we go down now we can look back on today as the day we lost it.It's a pity Fulham didn't score in the first minute because only after they scored did we threaten ourselves.Really disappointed with the attitude.

Down to the manager, I love Warnock but the gameplan and then the execution of subs in second half was appalling brining on healey to play AM when Reid is sat on the bench is insane Reid on 3 minuted got in behind fulham and we almost score with Hoilett hitting the cross bar

That’s just 3 mins I’ve no idea what Reid has done at the club but all season he should be starting games hes far better than any option we have at the club

Sulked and fell out with too many players Tomlin bogle damour Reid Murphy smithies to name a few

Re: Total lack of ambition.

What's frustrating is that we have a solid core of players who can play good football, but I don't think they allowed that freedom. Warnock plays a system which is often about damage limitation rather than anything else.

Re: Total lack of ambition.

I’m a warnock fan but really disappointed with him today we pay 10 million for Bobby Reid who in my opinion has not played enough football and when he has played he has looked a real threat! Camarasa has had a good season so I get that but when he takes him off he puts a lower league player in Rhys Healey on what is that about??? Did he not want to win this game? Bobby Reid is a class act and if he wanted a transfer j wouldn’t blame him he mastt play the next 2 games

I agree entirely with the heading, and as far as I am concerned, the fault lies with Warnock. Yes, he did wonders in getting us up, but in a game that we really had to win today, his negative tactics backfired once again. He has just been interviewed on TV and he has blamed the players for missing chances at the end. Yes, we probably shouldn’t have given the goalkeeper a chance with two of the late headers, but at least we were putting Fulham under pressure for the first time in the game. Don’t forget that Fulham, this season, have the worst defensive record in all the main European leagues, and yet we did not have a shot at goal until the 80th minute, immediately after their goal. If we had pressed them from the start, then I am certain we would have scored a few goals. Unfortunately, it looks as though we are destined for the Championship, and I sincerely hope that Warnock is found a place upstairs by the Board, as he deserves that. We should get in a younger Manager with a more attacking flair. As I write, Brighton have just gone behind, and so today’s loss could be more crucial by the end of the day. There may still be a slight chance of survival - well I can but dream!

The lack of ambition was last summer.. NW has done extremely well, considering our squad and outlay.

The football is tedious tho.. I fancy Karanka if Neil goes..

We start to build up a fan base and then get relegated far too easily. Back to 15,000 crowds next season, I’m afraid.

I think we're pretty much sunk, and I was mystified by the selection and substitutions today, but the manager made his best call.
If he's prepared to stay another season and the owner supports it , we can win the championship outright next season because we're a much better team than we were and we did eventually reach premiership standards - just a bit too late.

Maybe if that happens,( because we know the alternative scenario), perhaps Sir Neil would want to hand the job over to a different kind of manager once we're back up. However , we couldn't have a better promotion expert than him in the mean time.

I'd imagine our loan players are effectively gone and there'll be a rush to try and buy some of the others but we must keep as many as possible and replace the others. Could be worse!

I agree with most of what u say but I don't think we'll walk the championship tbh. We overachieved massively last season and the division has such strong teams with just as good a squad. You'll have Fulham, Huddersfield, Leeds, Wba, Derby, Boro, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Bristol City, Forest, and possibly a darkhorse who know one expects all vying for promotion along with ourselves. I think the realistic target next season is top 6. But I think Warnock is the right man to help take us back up, but if we get to the prem I personally want someone different.

Yes we’ll win the championship like we’ll finish tenth this season.
No, I’m afraid we won’t although I agree with you I’d like to see him stay next season for sure. If we had stayed up I think he should have stepped aside.
Most people on here think we’ll bounce straight back up but it’s not that easy.

I'm sure Stoke City fans thought they would walk the championship and look how that turned out.

We still have a glimmer of hope but I feel yesterday was 3 points list against an awful team

We lost it at the beginning of the season not gaining points on games when we were 11 against 10

Hoof ball the first part of the season

Possible 6 points lost due to bad decisions and a bad transfer window

Re: Total lack of ambition.

The problem with Warnock is he is a great manager at championship level and a hopeless one at premier league level. Yesterday his linltations as a premier league manager were cruelly exposed. In a match we needed to win he picked a negative side who seemed to be playing for a draw against an already relegated side with nothing to play for. He has spent £28 million pounds on three attacking players Madine Reid and Murphy not to mention another million on Ward and started the game with none of them. Instead playing an on loan forward who has not scored a goal this season. Then he brings on Healy who no one but some deluded people think is better than league one level instead of Reid who was one of the best players in the championship last season.

This was nothing but sheer incompetence no two ways about it. I would still stick with him because of his record in the championship but if he gets us promoted next season he needs to be kicked upstairs. Good as he has been for us a lot of people will not forgive him for yesterday's incompetence.

in the case of the first 3 you name ,it follows them around Tomlin has played for 6 clubs in 5 seasons and Bogle 5 clubs in 3 seasons..but yep blame the manager for sulking along with the other 8 sulkers that got rid... murphy has played in the more attacking line ups..and Smithies is a GK ffs do you expect him to come on for 10 mins now and again or what

In the case of Tomlin and Bogle they had a reputation of being trouble makers and yet he chose to sign them anyway so he has to take the blame.Probably a touch of arrogance in thinking he could sort them out.

Totally agree, we were playing catch up football all season, lack of investment in the Summer by Vincent Tan, Troy Deeney was available, unhappy at Watford in the Summer, Tan wouldn’t pay out £30 million for him, two premiership promotions Tan has let slip, first because of his childish antics with Malky and now showing no ambition to invest to stay up.
Cardiff City fans have been fantastic all season ,Tan doesn’t deserve our loyalty, it’s time for him to go.
Warnock has also showed inconsistency in team selection all season.

Today was the day??? You do realise even if we had won we'd still be behind Brighton and still in the relegation spot.

Tan deserves a lot of respect.

Thankfully unlike clowns like you he will continue to support Cardiff City.

Firstly it was reported that it was nowhere near £30M for Deeney, and secondly, what a crock of shit your post is about VT

arrogance...are their current managers also arrogant, have their previous managers all been arrogant, will their future managers be arrogant..? seeing a boy with talent who is clearly underachieving and thinking you might get more out of him when you have done similar in the past is not arrogance..especially when your looking for bargains, im sure NW would have much preffered to have 10 times the funds to buy risk free versions..he didn't..

It's worth pointing out that both of the clubs who Tomlin and Bogle are playing for now have them on loan so they can be sent back to the club that was stupid enough to buy them if they create any problems. The fact that they are both in league one suggests they were not very good signings in the first place.

Surely no one can defend Warnocks record on the transfer market recently? He most expensive signings have been Murphy £12 million Reid £10 million Madine £6 million Tomlin£1.5 million Ward £1 million and Bogle £800,000 that is over £30 million spent and not a single on of them started yesterday's match. Quite frankly that is ludicrous, not sure that Ole's record was worse than that.
