MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR ALL

Sat Apr 27, 2019 3:57 pm

My View / Opinion

FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR ALL SEASON, ESPECIALLY UPFRONT HAS VIRTUALLY COST US OUR PLACE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE.

Beaten today by already relegated Fulham, was virtually the nail in our coffin and looks like we now will be in the Championship next season.

Cardiff need to hold on to 90% of this team, as what they are is a high quality Championship team, but as we have seen definetely not a Premier League side.

City for me also did not show enough urgency until the final 10minutes of the game.

The last 10mins was all Cardiff City, City could of scored 4 goals, way to little to late

Second-half: Fulham had over 80% possession and once again by far played the better.

Then in the 78th an absolute a rocket by Ryan Babel which gave Neil Etheridge no chance, which made it 1-0

80th min Danny Ward nearly equalised, but Fulham's goalkeeper pulled of a magnificent save to deny Cardiff an equaliser.

87th min as soon as Bobby Reid had come on, Reid hit the under side of the crossbar.

91st Ward had a shot cleared of the line.

First-half: Fulham played the better football, but Cardiff battled and threatened through Mendez-Laing. Fulham were able to contain Cardiff at the back without real threats, from Cardiff.

There was very little in terms of attacking threat from City,

62nd min Oumar Niasse came off for Danny Ward.
85th min Bobby Reid came on for Arun Gunnarsson.

Thanks for the memories Neil but you’ve got it all completely wrong when it matters most.

Our squad was always lacking in depth - we missed NML during a critical period and with injuries to Paterson, Ralls, After etc we don't the quality to step up in their absence. Not sure what Bobby Reid needs to do to start a game - something not right there.

For me Wanrock takes the blame here, far to cautious from the off. We thrashed them at home by having a go, pressing high troubling their defence.

Having a go the last 10 minutes isn't good enough. I'll be surprised if you can find me anyone other than wanrock who thinks Healy should be coming on ahead of Reid in any situation.

Very Dissapointing.

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

My view: we didn't have a go until we went a goal down.

We sat back and defended quite well. But when the shackles finally came off we could have scored 3 goals. Why didn't we have a go much earlier?
Poor tactics against a team who are better going forward than defending.I

Brung on a f*cking rookie instead of Reid? have a word with yourself Warnock.

We didn't deserve anything from that. No urgency until the last 5 minutes. That onslaught should have the lasted the whole 2nd half. They've let us down today.

The disappointment is we have never had a striker since the days of Chopra and Bothroyd.

For me it was a gamble going into this season with what we had. If we do return to the Premier I hope we learn our lesson.

Typical goalie who couldnt kick paper bag players a blinder in last 10 mins

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

shambleolic subs. no ambition in the lineup. niasse could play a 100 games and still not score a goal. where has Danny ward and Bobby Reid been all season. weve thrown our place in this league away. what a waste

Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:08 pm

love warnock but today he got it all wrong yeah we created in the last 10 mins but end of the day not good enough how niasse has been starting on his own i have no words looked a much better threat when bobby came in and lets face it in the other games the attack has looked better as a whole when bobbys played mind blowing tbh

Healey’s not even a rookie he’s just shite

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

Warnock got it wrong today Did not really try until we went behind paid 10 million pound each for 2 players and does not want to play them much .SO is that saying it’s a waste of time giving him money to spend as he is not very good at BUYING players OR he gets it wrong by not playing them .Really annoyed that in such an important match that he got is so wrong

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:09 pm

Warnock must take full responsibility for those negative tactics. Go out and lose 4-3 if necessary, playing it tight with aimless long balls to a lone striker was garbage. Only after we conceded did we start to play and whilst Hoilett was unlucky, Morrison had 2 golden chances to score.

Dismayed by the manager today.

Warnock to blame for me. He plays totally defensively away from home even in a game we must win,it's just his mindset. I like him as a manager in the championship but at this level he is a bit of a dinosaur. Today we did not even give it much of a go against a relegated side deserved nothing and got nothing.

how warnock brung healy on over read blows my mind, no disrespect to healy but he hasnt even come close to scoring all season. reid shouldve been on at half time

I wonder if part of the loan deal for Niasse, that he had to start so many games.

Just didn't get going today at all .never have I critisised mr warnock but to bring on Healy and not Bobby Reid is beyond me .overall city have done great with the players we have at this level .it was a gamble not to spend and hope to stay in this league.
If Newcastle don't do us a favour that's defo it .
Keep the team and play Reid in the champoinship and we got a chance of going up .
I think we missed the chance to spend a bit more cash and stay up but then the death of Sala was a massive blow to all at city it's not been easy has it.
I like the champoinship more the the premier league anyway we win more it's more fun .
It's not quite over yet I'll keep praying until its final

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

Scared of losing from the off, Niasse was too scared to shoot and was always looking to unload to someone else.

We were outclassed not just beaten by Fulham, I cannot understand Warnock he didn't get agitated until the last 9 mins. His lack of confidence in the squad has in my opinion rubbed off on the squad. Why leave out his most expensive players, either they are not playing for him or he has to take responsibility and admit they were bad signings.

Re: MY VIEW: FOR ME THAT MISSING QUALITY WE HAVE CRAVED FOR

Agree with most of what you say Annis except keeping 90% of this team.we all know the loan players and Gunner are going but where does Reid and Murphy stand.
Our dearest players and lest be honest despite a few encouraging games they never seemed to come into Warnocks plans even off the bench!
Plus to go it’s Smithies or Etheridge,Cunningham or Bennet plus there may be some bids coming in for Manga and NML.
Yes this team looks good on paper in the championship but I think there’s going to be big changes.

All that said it ain’t over yet.

Brighton know the pressures off and will play with more optimism accordingly. If we’d snatched a point at the death which we should have it might have been different.

20% of possession against an already relegated club is simply not good enough.

Whether it was tactical or players just aren't good enough this is a clear indication we don't deserve to be a premier League club at the moment.

We were promoted ahead of schedule so another year of building in championship might be what's needed.

I can't get my head around some of the decisions NW makes.

Why on earth would you bring on RH before Reid?!
