Sickening injury sees Fulham v Cardiff City halted amid worrying scenes
Saturday 27th April 2019
Fulham vs Cardiff City was halted for almost 10 minutes as Fulham defender Denis Odoi was knocked unconscious after accidentally being kicked in the head.
A mix-up with Maxime Le Marchand saw the Fulham man take a boot to the head from his own team-mate.
Odoi initially got to his feet after coming round but continued to receive treatment on the pitch as he was clearly in distress and struggling to stand.
Cardiff's Oumar Niasse was quick in calling over assistance, while medical staff from both clubs rushed onto the pitch to offer help as concerned team-mates gathered round.
Odoi was given oxygen by medics and was put in a neck brace as a precaution.
While being carried off the pitch on a stretcher, fans inside Craven Cottage applauded the Belgian footballer before the game resumed.
