Willian Jose has long been one of La Liga's most underrated strikers but will Neil Warnock's Cardiff City sign him if they avoid Premier League relegation?

Cardiff City are interested in signing Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose this summer, according to surprising claims made by Calciomercato.
Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds are in danger of an immediate return to the Championship, given that they are three points adrift of safety with a trio of Premier League games remaining.
And their lack of goals has been arguably the major problem. Only Huddersfield have found the net fewer times than Cardiff during the 2018/19 campaign.
So their interest in Willian Jose, an old-school, 6ft 2ins centre-forward who would fit Warnock’s direct tactics like a velvet glove, makes perfect sense. The 27-year-old Brazilian has scored 44 goals in three seasons with La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, including ten in the current campaign.

But Cardiff will surely have to pull off an unexpected escape from relegation if they are to stand any chance of luring Jose to South Wales.
The Mail reported last summer that Sociedad were demanding a staggering £45 million for the one-time Real Madrid forward when Fulham were interested, a fee that would require Cardiff to shatter their transfer record.
