MY VIEW: A MOST IMPORTANT WEEKEND : " On the balance of pro

A MOST IMPORTANT WEEKEND : " On the balance of probability Brighton will lose to Arsenal and Manchester City.

This is because not only these two would beat Brighton in normal circumstances but in addition both have a lot to play for and will be playing flat out to win.

If that assumption is true (but who knows?) then Brighton's only realistic hope is to gain points against Newcastle !!

(1) if they win....we will need 2 wins and a draw (unlikely).

(2) if they draw....we need 2 wins (tough) (3) if they lose.... a win and a draw will do it (possible).

This means that a win against Fulham this weekend is extremely important !!!! A win is a must. A draw will put us in a tough position. A loss means probably curtains. What is your view?

Fulham really is a must win game as nothing else will keep us in with a chance no matter what happens elsewhere.

Missed out if the drew on Sat we would need 2 draws presuming we already won and They don't get anymore points....

I mean, since we're talking on the "balance of probabilities". The most probable scenario is that Brighton lose against an in form goal hungry Newcastle side who've won 2 of their last 2, scoring 4.

Brighton haven't scored a single goal in 7 I think nevermind 2 games.

A draw isn't unlikely, but a loss for Brighton is the most likely. Meaning that, all things considered, the MOST LIKELY scenario is that Brighton don't pick up another single point.

Meaning, if we win on Saturday, we're level on points and we have 1 winnable game (2 if Man U continue their poor form).

Unfortunately I get this feeling that Brighton have steadied the ship now and have gone back to basics since losing to us. I reckon they'll get a 0-0 draw at home to Newcastle this weekend which means we'd have to win 2 games.

I get what you're saying, but I don't see why it's unfortunate. It means we'll have to win against Palace instead of drawing it yes, but Unfortunately? Our biggest game is Fulham, If we win that then we host Crystal palace at home. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind if we win against Fulham (Which in my opinion is going to be the toughest thing we need to do) Then the win at home should naturally come, with the confidence from the fulham game, form, everything. If we draw or lose to Fulham then we're out if Brighton draw. But..Well, I'm excited for the Fulham game but it's going to be another game that I won't be enjoying, I'll be cringing and having my heart in my mouth for most of it no doubt.

Like I said, if we Beat Fulham then I welcome Brightons point, If we can draw against Palace then we can win against them. Neither Fulham or Palace will be shutting up shop from us, which suits our style of play to the tee.

There is no unfortunate scenario regarding us having to achieve 2 wins, all there is is an easy route of one win and a draw, or an "achievable" and actually not unrealistic route of 2 wins against 2 teams who have nothing to play for. That's if we write off the Man U game too which - this post aside - I haven't.

Having said that I'm not unrealistic, I know it's going to be tough...but we can say that about most things. In the grand scheme of things this isn't a "hard" task. It just completely depends on what Cardiff City turn up. If the one that has turned up every week since the West Ham game turns up, I'll be quietly confident we can get the job done. Only thing stopping us is bad performances I.E Defending from City players which we haven't seen much of in recent weeks, or Brighton somehow scoring again. Both in my opinion fairly unlikely.

On paper I would say spot on !!!

We all know anything can and often does happen if they lose and we win Saturday it's advantage Cardiff, but even then we all know anything can happen and the whole scenario is so unpredictable !!!

Against Bournemouth, Brighton went for a win and lost 0-5. Against us they again went for a win and lost 0-2.
Against Wolves and Spurs they shut up shop (parked the bus) and got a draw and a loss.
Well against Newcastle, they will know our result which will dictate which Brighton turn up. So we really need to put pressure on them if we win against Fulham, they will need to go all out for a win, which with their current form could be a tall order.
I haven't said it all season , but Saturday is a must win for us.

To many variables to consider.

I don't think it's impossible to get something from old Trafford though.

Fulham is as must win.
If we lose to Fulham and Brighton beat Newcastle we’re down.
