Anyone watch Brighton game last night? Did...

Wed Apr 24, 2019 7:21 am

They look tired?
Hopefully this will be a factor v Newcastle.

I watched it, they defended very well but offered very little going forward. Not sure they looked tired, but more devastated to lose it so late on after good defensive display. We need to beat Fulham Saturday and pile the pressure on for their late kick off against Newcastle

gutted more than tired , in fairness they worked their bollox off and put in a much bigger shift than they did against us. Houghton got his work cut out getting another performance like that out of them after it all coming to no avail last night..

Good stuff.
Mentally shattered after a late goal is just what we needed. They’ll also be ‘leggy’ on Saturday after that that’s for sure.
We look after ourselves with 3 points v Fulham and let’s wait and see.

Agreed those extra games are bound to take there toll on them, and the late goal killed them, lots of shots of players on their knees looking at the ground demoralised, I think Newcastle will beat them, fingers crossed anyway.

They didn’t look tired at all to me. They worked hard, defended really well and deserved a draw.
If that our performance we’d be raving about it (but probably blaming the ref)

not sure about deserving a draw or how happy the majority of our fans would be having gone parked the bus and still got beat although I think I know what you mean. they stuck to their game plan almost flawlessly.

physically tired , probably not , there was hardly any end to end stuff ,no sprints of any note with pretty much the entire Brighton team shuffling back and fore within their defensive third doubling up and filling gaps ..while tottenham moved the ball from right to left and back again akin to a training exercise..

mentally drained. probably , being asked to forego passing and moving and progressing up the field to play this high concentration defensive football and get a reward { like against wolves } is one thing asking them to continue with the against the grain stuff after having the rug pulled like yesterday is another thing..
at least I hope they are mentally drained..

Why would we blame the ref, it was Brighton so he was fair to them and the goal was perfectly fine and not offside !!!

I would agree they looked broken at the end, and that will be on their minds on Saturday!!!

Warnock always hates it when we've had an extra game midweek his view is that it is a massive disadvantage physically, Newcastle will have had much more rest and therefore have a big advantage !!!

Was a joke aimed at the many on here that constantly blame the referee in many of our performances.

I don't think many would be raving about a performance like that resulting in a loss to be honest. Our fans flip out over anything so losing a game by defensive having not scored in 11 hours would not result in a raving forum lol.

Again, I’m not talking about the result. I’m not talking about ‘resulting’ in anything. Their performance away was excellent with committed defending, hard work and a Warnock type display. That’s what we as City fans would have appreciated.
