Jurgen Klopp shares what Martin Atkinson told him after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Cardiff

Liverpool had to work hard for all three points against Cardiff City yesterday.

Jurgen Klopp manager:

"I think the big chance they had [Morrison header], the ref told me it would have been a foul on Ali, so it wouldn’t have been a goal."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side's hard-fought 2-0 win over Cardiff City yesterday, and shared what the referee told him after the game, as quoted by the club's official website.

The Reds now sit two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, although Pep Guardiola's men do have a game in hand - away at Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Klopp's men made hard work of it yesterday, and were made to wait until the 57th minute before they broke Cardiff's resolve.

Liverpool eventually won the game 2-0 after James Milner's late penalty, but they were also lucky not to concede from a Sean Morrison header.

And Klopp told reporters how match-day referee Martin Atkinson told him after the game that had Morrison scored, the goal would not of stood, as quoted by the club's official website:

Next up for Liverpool is a home game against Huddersfield Town on Friday night, and Klopp will be hoping that his team blow away the already relegated Terriers.

The conversation went like this 'dont worry Jurgen even if they'd have scored I would have found a way to disallow it' followed by a fist pump!

I'm stunned Klopp has shared this information and surely this needs to be investigated? Let's be clear about this, Martin Atkinson only played on to award Liverpool a goal kick because Morrison missed!

I've just watched it again and it was never a free kick on Alison. Gunnarsson was standing a yard or two in front of Alison and there was no movement from Gunnarsson to block Alison. Gunnarsson had every right to stand there and if Martin Atkinson honestly thought that was a free kick, why didn't he blow his whistle BEFORE the ball reached Morrison?

This brings back memories of Bamba's goal away at Millwall last season when the ref inexplicably blew his whistle just when Bamba lashed the ball into the net.

As with the above - I've lost any respect of the "media darling" Klopp. I've never heard such a deluded hypocrite.

All the guy does is giggle and laugh in disrespect when he wins and runs onto the pitch going berserk when it's not called for. Really clever man at deflecting from all his own flaws!
