Oumar Niasse to be offloaded at £55,000 a week wages

Marcel Brands may soon be offered the chance to offload Oumar Niasse for more than a loan spell, as Fanatik understand Besiktas representatives have met with the £55,000-a-week forward.

There is not a case for tapping up, just yet, as the encounter was at an event for the Association for Football for Peace, where our man was in attendance.

It is claimed that Black Eagles board member Erdal Torunogullari was there representing the Super Lig outfit, and spoke with Niasse, which left the Turkish giants considering a return to their winter interest.

In the end, the 28-year-old joined Cardiff for the remainder of the term in January, and it is unlikely that we will see the former Senegal international at Goodison Park again.

If Marco Silva was not keen on what he had to offer before sending Niasse to South Wales on loan, the fact that the 5 ft 9 attacker is still yet to open his account this term will not change his opinions.

As it is not stated whether or not they are willing to offer a permanent deal, though, Besiktas will now have to decide which sort of move they are open to making in the summer, as Niasse’s contract with the Toffees runs until 2020.

I like him, I don’t think he is anywhere near as bad as some people are suggesting. In a team that provides chances he will get goals and mixed with his work ethic he will be a great signing for someone. He is a bit unpredictable and that at times goes for and against him.

No doubt about it our best form this season has been with him in the team.

We really need him to be in the goals in the next month to stand any chance.
55k a week , incredible wages.

I did like him at first his hard work was a breath of fresh air and worked for us for a short while it's only now that we have had a longer look that his shortcomings are more apparent. Firstly his finishing has been abysmal when you play with only one forward up front he has to get at least some goals not none at all.

Secondly for all his hard work up front he creates hardly any chances for a one else. He simply does not have a good footballing brain he does not make any telling passes or lay offs for anyone else. He is like a machine that makes a lot of noise and smoke but does not actually do anything. The sad thing is given that Zohore is pretty ineffective up front he still migh be the best we have got.

For 55k a week we need better than him he’s very poor for the money.
Has a poor first touch don’t score goals
Just hope he can score a few winners before the season is out to keep us up.

Apart from work rate what else does he offer? At everton wasnt proligic and if remember their fans said wouldn't score goals even though he gets into great positions as we've seen for ourselves... definitely no to 55k can get 3 reasonable players for that

Cardiff City's on-loan Everton striker Oumar Niasse linked with move to Turkish giants

Cardiff City's on-loan Everton striker Oumar Niasse is being linked with a move to Turkish football giants Besiktas

Everton forward Niasse was unveiled as a Bluebird during the January transfer window, becoming the first signing of the month.

The 28-year-old Senegal international agreed terms to come on loan until the end of the season, but has yet to score a goal for the Bluebirds in nine Premier League appearances.

Cardiff have an option to buy in the summer, with Everton previously reported to be wanting around £7m, but sports website Fanatik claim Besiktas are interested in signing Niasse ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sport Witness report that former Besiktas board member Erdal Torunogullari met with Niasse during an event held in London, and say the club are now considering a summer move for the player they have previously been linked with.

Niasse joined Everton for £13m from Lokomotiv Moscow just three years ago, but fell out with then Toffees boss Ronald Koeman and his career at Goodison Park stalled.

He moved to Hull on loan in January 2017 and almost kept them in the Premier League, with four goals in 17 games.

Niasse's contract with the Merseyside club runs until 2020, but his immediate focus is on trying to keep Cardiff in the Premier League.

Never worth those wages. Works hard, runs the channels and his pace offers a threat but at 55k a week id expect my striker to have a much better footballing brain and be a much better finisher.

Championship or league 1 at best im afraid.

He's got plenty of heart but at the end of the day if you are in a brothel you need a knob to score. Plenty of heart and effort always comes up short.

55k seems a lot but at the time he was a big signing for Everton I think he was nearly 14m which was a lot 3 years ago. Probably the reason he hasn't left Everton as no one will cover the wages.

I would sign him if we go down but on much lower wages. Never worth 55k a week.

The whole story is made up. I recognise the journalist who calls everyone "Giants" when he was making up crap about us buying or selling with Beskitas in the summer we were the "Welsh Giants". In that role he's linked us with everyone from Gareth Bale to Pele.
As far as Niasse is concerned, I wrote a post here suggesting him long before he was ever linked with us and I think he should be signed permanently. Everything is there but the final touch and there's every reason to think that's imminent.

Isn't it down to the formation we play under Warnock. We do not create many chances because we are so negative. Doesn't it tell you something when Niasse, Zohore Madine and others can't score. Most games our possession stats are around 30%. We set up to be beaten.

We set up to be beaten? Absolute nonsense.
We set up to be competitive as most of our players are championship standard. And that’s exactly what Warnock has done this season, make us as competitive as we can be with the squad we have.

As for Niasse, I would definitely take him if we go down this season as looks likely but obviously on a sensible wage and fee.
