GOALS FROM BEZ LUBALA, COREY O'KEEFFE AND REMEAO HUTTON EASED BLUES UNDER-23S TO A COMFORTABLE VICTORY OVER CARDIFF CITY AT THE WEEKEND.

We were aggressive and we stamped our authority onto the game, and to score three goals is always good.

The hosts took a first-half lead at the Autotech Stadium when Ryan Burke's cross fund Lubala, who made no mistake as he headed home.

The game was then put beyond doubt as Blues scored two goals in quick succession after the break.

O'Keeffe doubled his side's advantage following a dribble and a shot, before Hutton went down the right before cutting into the box and slamming the ball into the back of the net.

Cardiff's solitary goal from a set-piece late on proved little more than a consolation.

Blues' Senior Professional Development Coach Richard Beale thought his side were worthy winners.

"Overall, it was a good performance and a good win," he said.

"I was really pleased with the way the lads competed.

"We were aggressive and we stamped our authority onto the game, and to score three goals is always good.

"We made sure we converted the chances we had and took an unassailable lead.

"The only disappointing thing was the goal we conceded late on when we didn't defend the ball into the box very well, because we pride ourselves on keeping clean sheets and defending well from set-plays.

"Overall it was good levels from everybody, and it was particularly pleasing for Bez (Lubala and Josh (Dacres-Cogley) to get a game because they haven't played much recently."
