Burnley Winning Away Today

For me CARDIFF have to win 4 of their last 6 games and hope for other clubs to slip up

To win 4 games we will have to do what we’ve never ever done before in the Premier League.

I think our target stays unchanged

3 wins will do it.

Beat Burnley and we are within 2 points of safety with 5 games to go.

Burnley was always going to be a big game now it's a cup final for us

Re: “ Not looking good “

I think Brighton is the bigger game now.

Beat Burnley, Brighton and Fulham. At least a draw against palace and we'll be fine. If we don't, then we really deserve relegation back to the championship.

I don't see Burnley getting another pont this season, and Brighton will struggle.

It's in our own hands and I'm well excited for the run in!

Re: “ Not looking good “

CCFC's goal difference in effect means they are six points from safety, Southampton and Brighton have much better goal differences.

Dont ghink get enough points whilst 4 games are winnable cant see us winning more than 2 maybe 1 draw as well? But football is a funny old game and anything is possible! People say you dont go down because of one game but chelsea is looking more like it has cost us badly because no time to correct the lost points from it....

The three game shambles of Watford, Everton and Wolves was the point where our season went away from us. We've played very well in our last three but these decent performances are all too late. If City beat Burnley next week that would be an exceptional result. Its just not going to happen though, a draw at best. The slight fading hope is that Brighton continue in their poor form post Fa cup. I think we will win two and draw one from our final games and will be relegated on 35 points.

It's already been a better season, on the pitch, than I expected.

So whatever will be, will be.

I agree with you! :ayatollah:

I just had a feeling that would happen today. These sort of results seem to have a habit of occurring towards the end of a season when certain clubs consider themselves 'safe for another year' and some commentators were pretty scathing of Bournemouth's "on the beach" attitude

Cardiff City can still influence their own destiny and wins against Burnley and Brighton will surely set up a heart-stopping end of season. No one should expect too much from the ManUre game but Liverpool at home may just have pressure on them too and the clash against Crystal's Palace may just be the game that decides our fate and that for me right now would be a superb situation

C'mon Bluebirds, it's still in your hands to write yourselves into Cardiff City folklore! :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

realistically, we're now relegated.

it isnt all lost, because we still have three games coming up shortly that are 'winnable'. it goes without saying that we need to beat brighton and burnley, which will be very difficult given that both teams know they just need to draw, to effectively see us off.

Huge game now

We're down, that was a shocking result for us today. Useless South Coast softies.

Bournemouth are going to have to improve significantly at Brighton to get anything. We need at least 1 of the 3 above us to get almost 0 points from the rest of the season. That's a big ask. Never mind I've enjoyed the season but wont lose any sleep if we go down. Shame that they've changed the parachute payments to one year for teams that get relegated in their first season.

We will not beat Burnley away end of. We may get one win Fulham away but I wouldn’t be surprised with no wins, hard to say but true, been a decent season tho better than expected

Spot on Wayne s we were nailed on certs by most,to be down by Christmas, until it's mathematically impossible, we need to let the team know we are still with them 100%,after fighting against the odds so valiantly. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old: :bluebird:

Going back to the OP...."Not looking good".......well that is a statement of fact. But it reminds me that no team in this league are going to do us any favours, especially south coast softies who I am surrounded by every day I go to work.

So it comes down to US. We are not like these liver lillied english, we are Cardiff City. Nothing ever comes easy to us, we have to fight for everything we earn......and WE DO.

I will not give up hope on our team because they will not give up hope on us. In many ways this has been the best season I can remember for a long, long time. The feeling of "togetherness" I have had is a feeling I can't recall, until maybe as far back as the Eddie May years.

We are in the trenches, there is no doubt about that. But that does not mean we cannot win the war. I will never surrender and I firmly believe that my beloved team has the same mentality as me.

Football is a funny old game so let's just see what happens. Whatever the outcome, I, along with most of you, will still be here, supporting the boys and making a lot of noise.

Please don't give up hope because there is one major lesson I have learned in life....Positive Thoughts lead to Positive Actions which lead to Positive Results.

We are Cardiff, we are Barmy.......you know the rest. :bluebird:

Pretty much how I feel, gave it our best shot, but in the end lack of quality has cost us.

Hola Annis, allthough not impossible but i think we are down now, we've only won 8 games all season and now we'll have to win at least 3 out of our last 6 games to give us a chance. Up until a couple of weeks ago catching Burnley would have been our best chance due to their tough run in, but they are just about safe now and it's Brighton who we have to catch, on paper they have a far easier run in than us and don't forget our horrendous goal difference is worth another point to our rivals. So all in all it's over in my opinion.

Pragmatism seems to be prevailing and there is a growing acceptance that we going down. We are not going to win 3-4 games especially as three of our winnable games are away from home. I really hope the club are making proper plans for the Championship now to make early signings in midfield to replace Arter, Camarassa and Gunnarson. Zohore also needs to be sold and two new strikers brought in. I don't think a major overhaul of the squad is needed. With 5-6 good signings we have every chance of being a yo-yo club and coming back next season. Certainly fancy our chances much more than Fulham and Huddesfield.

We will have no option but a full overhaul of the squad

We have a lot of players out of contract

Jazz richards
Bruno Manga
Junior hoilett
Arron Gunnarsson
Brian Murphy
Loic Damour
Kareem Harris

Then we have the loans

Omar Niasse
Victor Camarasa
Harry Arter

Then we have Bamba who is likely to miss the first 2 months of the season with his Injury

AND whoever's we decide to sell to balance the books

The squad either way is going to have a huge overhaul , possibly up to 10 players

Brighton & Burnley have the hardest run in by far! Southampton is easiest ncastle not bad , our problem is we are away against teams we can beat so whilst it's difficult at least there is hope probably upto 3 games left will decide our fate. :old:

With Burnley's run-in, surely if we beat them then then another couple of wins may suffice. We are eight points behind, but with a worse GD. However a win against the Clarets would see us only five points and a game in hand and with a -11 GD at worst. Two more wins in addition would take us past them provided they lose to Chelsea, Man City, Everton & Arsenal (That could even reduce their goal difference further if they lost all four).

Sure we have a good chance of getting two wins from Brighton, Fulham & Palace.

Not a forgone conclusion by any means.

I don't agree...but it seems many Burnley away ticket returners do! :(

Find that sad and an indictment of their fair-weather commitment to the club

Ironically, tomorrow (Monday) is the last day for the 'Early Bird' Season Ticket Offer and it will be interesting how many renew at this stage with the pendulum leaning slightly to the negative left rather than the positive right ;)

These words inspire me Allan.

Way before any of our times but worth remembering.....we had 90 odd Welshmen v 5,000 plus Zulus, who quite frankly wanted to kill them. They did not give up........and the rest is history.

You are only defeated when you believe it to be so.........never give up.
