Cardiff City have paid less money to agents than any other Premier League club in the past year, new figures have revealed.
Welsh rivals Swansea City , however, paid more than the Bluebirds and most of their Championship rivals this season, as details for how much was paid by clubs in English football's top two divisions were published by an Associated Press journalist.
Figures for between February 2018 and January 2019 were revealed, with Cardiff's £2.8million outlay to agents the lowest in the top flight — by a distance.
Burnley were the next lowest with almost £4million paid to agents, Huddersfield approximately £5million, while the Bluebirds fellow promoted sides from last season Wolves and Fulham spent £6.5m and £8.2million respectively.
Liverpool were the Premier League's biggest spenders in terms of fees to agents with a whopping £43.8m, with Chelsea next (£26.9m) then Manchester City (£24.1m), then Manchester United (£20.8m).
In the Championship, the relegated clubs from last season's Premier League came top of the bill, though Swansea — who paid agents £5.5million — came second behind Stoke City (£7.2m), with West Bromwich Albion spending £5.1m on agents' fees.
Premier League clubs paid a total of £260.664m to agents or intermediaries over the 12-month period with that figure dropping significantly down the leagues. Championship clubs paid £50.481m, League One £5.6m and League Two £940,555.

The 20 Premier League clubs splashed out a combined record £260m to agents last year, according to figures released by the Football Association.
Liverpool topped the table with £43.7m going to agents for the 12 months (2018 summer window and 2019 winter window) - more than Manchester City and Manchester United combined.
Liverpool invested in new players before the start of the current season, spending about £177m. Chelsea were the second-highest spenders on agents fees with £26.8m, followed by Man City's £24m. Cardiff's £2.8m was lowest of the 20 clubs.
Tottenham spent £11m on intermediaries despite making no signings in the last two transfer windows.

So not far off 15% of the TV money - the richest football TV deal in the world by a massive margin- goes to agents. That's a disgrace.
