The guy couldn’t finish his breakfast, waste of time money, hope we send the guy back

Re: Niasse

Hes garbage

The works his ass off and chases everything but we need a goalscorer

He was being touted to us for 15mill in January aswell. Thank God we didn't bite

Re: Niasse

Waste of space. :banghead:

Re: Niasse

What is wrong with ken? Hes on bench again and doesnt play, niasse was usless from the start Yes no service but he lost ball before he got it due to his positioning :o

He's not the answer !!

Re: Niasse

I love his work ethic, but now we’ve got Ken fit we may as well give him a go for the rest of the season.

I don’t think he was ever intended to be. I believe we brought him in to stretch defences, to free up Sala to bag the goals. Obviously, with what happened to Sala, he’s ended up being a lone striker, which doesn’t seem to suit him at all.

Exactly, his centre forward play great, stretches defences, holds the ball up, he's not a goalscorer

Re: Niasse

Works hard, runs the channels well and gets us up the pitch but his footballing brain is awful, he's technically awkward and his finishing is abysmal as well as his decisions in the last 3rd of the pitch. Id rather see Zohore start tbh. Wherever we are next season we need a better striker and I hope we don't pay the optional 7m fee to take him in the summer.

Re: Niasse

Better movement then any of our other strikers.

He isn’t a lone striker when Reid was playing upfront with him we looked much better.

I said this after West Ham game and I got slated.... he is c..p

Re: Niasse

Thu Apr 04, 2019 8:08 am

I think his main attributes are that he works hard and, until last night, gave us a good escape route when under pressure.

The problem is that appears to have the goal scoring prowess of Eddie Johnson

Can't knock the guy because he runs himself to a standstill but I do wonder whether Zohore may carry more of a threat, not just in scoring goals but creating them too with his pace.

We're not spoilt for choice but I'd probably stick with Niasse for the Burnley game but bring on Zohore after an hour to really have a go at tiring centre backs.

In fairness to Niasse, he was bought to play with Sala, and you can see how that might have worked, so I don't want to be too critical.

Re: Niasse

Unfortunelty the way we set up strikers struggle, they literally have to run themselves into the ground every game. We tend to create few chances and they have to make them for themselves. Yes Niasse should have scored by now but I think he offers us more in general player even though I'm a fan of Zohore.

Next game is Burnley away, no doubt for me Niasse starts, we need his movement and work rate.

Look at his all-round game, he is there to hold the ball up and bring others into play, and also to run relentlessly and put the other team's defence under pressure.

If you take him out of the team you will see a total difference, we are just starting to play well and find the strongest team, don't try and tinker when we have been playing well !!!

You not remember Ken at the start of the season.

Some of our best performances have been with Niasse in holding the ball up bringing others in.

its very difficult to weigh up the pros and cons with this bloke tbh..
what he did last night is easily forgivable but if that's the only chance either team gets in turf more its a different story.
no football brain ,he seems to have no idea where the goals , his team mates or his own legs are. yet causes problems..as with Everton ,if we were any higher up the table this wouldn't even be a debate

You’re right but people like wolfpac (the OP) are always looking for a scapegoat.
He called Morrison (his last scapegoat) - a clown, a deadbeat captain, a joke and even said ‘I hope he gets injured for the rest of the season’.
Funny how our esteemed manager doesn’t agree with him. In fact I can even remember this guy saying Warnock should walk at one point during the season!
Some idiots on this board for sure.

I aint an idiot ya fool, speaking sense, the guys a plank who couldn't score in a brothel, my nan who is 96, partially sighted and enjoys farting could have put that ball past Ederson

Niasse may bring energy to the table but he isn't scoring goals you daft wetwipe

Re: Niasse

Missed some great opportunities for us, but I don't see any other striker getting into the positions he does so for me he's the best we've got and I guess you could say he's due an important goal.

Ultimately there has to be some end product. Hard work is not enough if it leads to nothing at all. So far he does not score at all and he does not create goals for anyone else. Problem is none of our forwards look like scoring and it may be just worth persisting with starting with him as the best of a bad bunch and bringing Zohore on with twenty minutes to go. It seems you don't get much for £13.5 million these days. It Everton sell him at the end of the season they will be lucky to get a quarter of that, unfortunately people have now seen him play.

I suppose we could go back to experimenting and tinkering like Watford and Everton ???

Or Warnock could stick with his defence first strategy, make us as solid and difficult to play against as possible, and then hit hard and fast when going forward.

In the current team everyone has a job to do on the ball and when we are without the ball, we defend from the front with Niasse the first line, he does a relentless job of chasing and blocking defensive cross field passes, and then if you follow the team back to the keeper they all will work hard when we haven't got the ball and will either backtrack or stay and protect the defence.

Warnock has gone back to basics and made us hard to beat, anyone can see that, and it's working we have improved and every man has his job to do and does it well.

Also, Niasse is twice as strong with back to the goal as Zohore who falls over at the slightest touch from the defender and virtually never wins a header and gets bullied by premier league defenders, Niasse, on the other hand, bullies them and is as strong as I've seen from a Cardiff centre forward.

If the Burnley defence see's Niasse on the bench and Zohore upfront they will be smiling from ear to ear, as they know they could dominate and bully him until he goes off, if on the other hand, they see him come on for the last 20 mins with fresh legs after having been battered from Niasse for 70 mins they may not be so pleased

It's easy to look at a stat like goals scored and dismiss a player, but you should consider the all-round game of the player and what they bring to the team as a whole.

Besides Warnock picks him continually and he has forgotten 200 times more than any of us will ever know about football :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: Niasse

He is doing better than what any of our other strikers would. It’s vital we have somebody who can hold the ball up and bring others into the game higher up the pitch. Next two games this will show even more as unlike the last two we won’t be having virtually none of the ball.

Against big hard bullying defenders, we don't want a soft Striker up there holding the line

An excellent, well balanced and thought out post.

Unfortunately, some people on here just don’t know or understand football.
If someone doesn’t score, they’re crap. Someone having a bad spell (Morrison) - “can some c**t shoot the prick and injure him for the rest of the season”

Good Post.

I also have faith in Zohore, totally different players. Let's not get into the routine of one player is good so let's rubbish the other.
